my parents wanted to rewrite history in such a way that relieved the guilty one of any wrong doing and blamed it all on his successor.
im not going to be at all surprised if obama has to remind people that he isnt the guilty party.

The ending of “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

Even over the past year, when he was bogged down in budget fights with the Tea Party-controlled GOP House, Obama still managed to squeeze out a few domestic policy victories, including a $1.2 trillion deficit reduction deal and the most sweeping overhaul of food safety laws in more than seventy years. That Obama has done all this while also steering the country out of what might have been a second Great Depression would seem to have made him already, just three years into his first term, a serious candidate for greatness.

As I remember the Democrats never gave Bush a break for starting with a recession. They tried to say he was the first president ever to lose more jobs than he gained. That bit of propaganda got stopped cold when things recovered. Funny, I never see anyone making the point that this really will happen under Obama. (shrug) I guess job loss is not really an issue any more.
