One of my favorite parts was when she talked about the reaction to the increase in work-related injuries for women. There was an outcry that 'something must be done' as this was unacceptable.
It turned out that women's injuries had NOT increased. What had happened was that so many men had lost their jobs due to the recession that the number of injuries to men had decreased so significantly that the ratio of injuries between men/women had changed.

Like it or not the reality is that certain unpleasant tasks will always fall on the shoulders of men.
Not because we're the only ones that should do them, but because we're the only ones who can/will. We are bigger, stronger and more aggressive. Men, in general, will always be better suited for certain tasks than women. And women will be better suited for certain tasks than men.
The genders are different, and we have different roles. That's how it is.

I just think it takes a particular brand of ignorance to advocate equality in every aspect except for the societal consideration of the value of the life of one sex over the life of another.

Men are more aggressive than women.
They are more likely the commit violent crimes, or pursue careers where violence is part of their job.
Our nation has been engaged in a prolonged armed conflict, and it looks like the future is filled with even more wars.
Wars that will be fought predominantly by males.
War is what happens when you have a lot of useless males. Then there is a baby boom after you win a war and your strongest males come back to a horny and lonely female heavy population.
Then the cycle repeats.
That's human nature.

Further the baby boom wasn't so much about coming back from a war, it was the culmination of 15 or 20 years - an entire generation's worth of hardship in America coming to an end. Remember the Great Depression was a major issue just prior to WW2.

15-20 years of depression which meant you had a surplus of useless males. Then you have a huge war, and suddenly had a lot less useless males.
Then things got better.
Then you have a baby boom and 18 years later you have a surplus of useless males then you have Korea and Vietnam.
Now the Millennials are coming of age, also known as the Echo Boomers, and what's happening?
More war. It's not a coincidence.

She misses something very important...
Men are given the choice to be disposable. I dont care what is written about in stories.. Men treat other men as disposable too. Women are seen as disposable as well.
Its only in stories that a man will die in order to save the life of a random stranger (lifeboat example). I wouldnt give up my seat for a stranger..id pull her out of the lifeboat to save myself, most of us would do that. If we as a society cared about women and children first we wouldnt bomb afghanistan into the stoneage(hurting the wesk the most).
I disagree with her point of view.
The only problem with modern women is that men as a whole are mot modern yet either. Men need to modernize to match womens new world view.

The reason we protect women is not because they have the egg and men have sperm so one man can impregnate a thousand women... Its because our children require long term upbringing. If we had children that matured in 1 day then we'd treat women as 100% equal.. The way fish are. Women need to stay in the nest long term to raise the children..so we have a society around maintainging it.

These lifeboat examples kind of prove that women are inferior. Ive walked right on by a homeless woman with her child. I dont give a crap about her. Clearly in my book, she and her child do not come before me.
She is nuts to think that i would let myself drown a painful death just so she can be on the lifeboat. If a bunch of people denied my passage on the lifeboat, theyd have to murder me... Id fight for my survival. Id probably only die to protect my children but i cant say for sure that id suicide for that purpose until im in that situation.
