She is a left handed Epee fencing ranked 6th in the US rolling polls. If she gets up to 4th she is eligible for the Olympics. She has a younger sister that she taught to fence who is also a member of the club that I am a member at.

Yes she's hot and VERY talented.
Fencing is expensive but it is something you can buy a piece at a time. If you join a club or take lessons at a club all equipment is provided. If you want to continue you can buy stuff when you want to. You will always have access to a clubs equipment but you might want your own weapon, then eventually your own mask and so on. You never have to buy everything at once.
I'm 33 and I joined the club I am a part of without knowing anyone. I have been accepted because of my previous fencing and my skill easily. But there are people of all ages checking out the sport and joining.
Find a club, call them and talk to one of the coaches. Find out the times a coach is there. See if you can meet with them before it opens. Then sit in and watch a lesson and some bouting. Feel free to talk to people in the club parents, participants, and coaches. Ask questions and get to know people. Then when you are ready to take lessons you know a little about the people involved and the people you will learn with.
You are never to old to learn to fence.

But MSS, that was a great explanation of how to do it right and have it be the least amount of awkward to start.
I'm still going with DC on this one though. You said previous fencing experience, that's not fair. I'd see starting to learn how to skillfully fly a kite sooner than beginners fencing.
Although dead, I think we should challenge ourselves to a skateboard one of these days.

Ah but no one asked me about my first club that I joined  .
The year is 1999 or it might have been 1998 I was walking down a main street in Scraton PA. I was looking at store fronts and saw one that said The Fencing Exchange. With a poster for Zorro in the window. I walked by it for a couple weeks before nerving up to check it out. I went upstairs one day the minute they were supposed to open, talked to the coaches, took a 30 minute intro course and I was hooked. I did visit a couple more times and talked to students and parents and learned more (which is why I suggest that). After that I paid my club dues, got lessons, and competed A LOT. I made my way from E rank (beginner) to C rank (intermediate) in a year. Missed my B ranking three times in competitions.

It is a great exercise. Endurance, Muscle control, and focus are what I learned from it. Sadly Fencing is not for people with great muscle strength. Heavy weight training and body building slow a fencer down. But if you want to increase muscle speed, agility, and twitch muscle response fencing is the way to go.

This is so very true. I've been fencing since last June. It's done wonders for my health. It's really improved my muscle tone and endurance. My entire upper body is getting firm and the waistline is staying small (34"). I'm quite happy with what it's done for my body so far.
I'm not doing strip fencing like most Olympic class fencers are. I'm doing mine within the SCA. Our fencing style involves the full 360. Physically, I think it's more demanding than strip fencing is.
I have't fought with an Epee as of yet. Though I personally would NOT bend / flex a sword across my shoulders like her picture shows her doing.
The cost isn't that bad either. You can get started for as little as $300. That'll get you everything you need to fight. Granted, it'll be basic stuff but you can get started an then start upgrading from there.

There are a variety of swords used. Foils, Epees, Rapiers, Sabers. Plus some names are used in redundancy. For example in SCA Fencing, Rapiers are also referred to Schlager blades. There are a few other types of swords but their names escape me.
The first four names cover something like 95+% of the swords in use though. Different rules for each based on the sword design.
