Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Yesterday I made home made hot sauce, orange chicken, tofu stirfry, shrimp tempura, and potstickers. Today I made humbows with my own filling and cake. I also drank ridiculous amounts through it all. I want a cookie.

I don't know how this is related, but I recently conjured up an interpretation of the video for Soundgarden's 'Black hole sun' that draws an unexpected link with the video for Telepopmusik's 'Breathe.' The theme of Black hole sun seems to center around modern suburbia, and the complete removal of mankind from his natural environment. The obnoxious, glib, and superficial demeanor demanded of urban culture, cookie cutter environments, and lack of struggle for the basic needs of food, shelter, and warmth. Without all of these threats, man's environment becomes artificial, thus welcoming an end to it all. An end to the world-weariness delivered in the form of a black hole sun. Similarly, Telepopmusik's 'Breathe' paints the same artificial environment, with the protagonist crushing a butterfly in his palm in order to break the dream and return to the grit of reality. The dirty subways, smog, and congestion of day to day life. It is also worth noting the resolution provided by both songs. One is an apocalyptic message backed by screeching guitars and black clad outcasts, with the other being a more clean and pure, optimistic imperative. Both are great video accompaniments for their respective songs, and by all means feel free to disagree.
