That'll just work on AT&T's network (or 2G speeds on T-Mobiles).

The Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S II are probably T-Mobile's best phones right now. They haven't really gotten much since the AT&T buy out started a year ago.

The Galaxy Nexus costs $600+ though, so might be considered a bit above reasonably priced.

T-Mobile has it's own version of the Galaxy S II, model T989, but it's much harder to find a good deal on these, probably because they are sold much less.

Negri happens to have the T-Mobile version on sale for $485 though. Never bought from them, but they seem to be a trusted retailer on the XDA forums.

PS. Also coming this spring to T-Mobile is the HTC One S. It's a really nice mid range phone, one step down from the One X that had a lot of people drooling. The screen isn't a 720P, but it's a step up from the Galaxy S II. And the processor is a next gen 32nm Krait (aka Snapdragon S4).
