Food is a refuge for a lot of people.
Eating is something they can still enjoy no matter how unattractive they become.
Since we hooked my wife's very over weight boss up with my down and out buddy with hygiene issues both of their appearances have begun to improve and both of them are much more active socially.
She's lost weight, and he's been pursuing job opportunities and cleaning up his appearance.
It's good to see both of them engage life instead of hiding behind their bad habits.

Avg size of american women is 14... I always thought size 8 was pretty big. Our society really makes it seem normal to be that large.
Edit: even my dr told me, youre not skinny.. Everyone is fat so they think you look too skinny, the reality is they are all messed up.
