Santorum struggled and was attacked from all sides.
Ron Paul got a lot of smiles and conciliatory pats on the back by the other debaters.

Romney had a good showing.
Santorum showed he isn't ready.
Ron Paul was Ron Paul. His responses on foreign policy were inarticulate and generally badly delivered.

Ron Paul was there to point out hypocrisy and keep everyone else honest. He should be allowed at every single debate even if he isn't running so he can point out the hypocrisy of every other candidate. That's one reason that none of the other candidates wants him there. There were probably even some people in the audience who are uncomfortable with Paul pointing out the truth about the candidate they already plan to vote for, so their Cognitive Dissonance is going to make them reflexively dislike the guy.
