If (and that's a mighty big "if") there was ANY nutritional shortage in the lunch (doubtful), you can damn well bet that some fkn chicken nuggets didn't solve it. Further, you can't necessarily gauge the nutritional intake of a child based on one meal in the day.

As a metaphor it's a fairly relevant story, and I agree it is what happens when you put a man with no balls in charge. The worst part of such a policy or "leader" is that inevitably they blame the people rather than their own ineptitude.

It's your own damn fault you can't listen to music, a few people had to spoil it for everyone!

instead of:

Your radio can't be too big, and has to be kept at a volume that it can't be heard upstairs. If you violate these rules, you will not be allowed to have a radio, while everyone else still will.

sooz, #1 can happen at any stage in life. Hell, I see men piss all the time and walk out without washing their hands. I also see men turn on the water and dash their hands underneath then walk out. As for #2, if my kid could be killed by an allergic reaction I would not let them attend a public school the first few years. The fact is, none of these conditions were in place when I went to school and we never heard of anyone getting sick or dying.

The reason you find it hard to believe that kids have to acquire a taste is BECAUSE it's a staple in this country. There's a vast difference between 100% peanut butter and Skippy. Most mainstream peanut butters have tons of sugar, hydrogenated vegetable oils, and salt.

If all citizens were about to go to a battlefield where they quite literally had each others' lives in their hands and had to rely on their ability to flawlessly follow orders to survive, then that would be a good way to train all citizens.

I've mostly replaced liverwurst with some mushroom pate stuff I buy at this hippy grocery store. It's damn good (not as good as liverwurst, but close).

I like to spread some of it on a Neva Betta cracker, crumble on some Stilton, top with a smoked oyster, then add a dash of horseradish. It's also good with smoked trout instead of the oyster. I'll make up 10 or 12 of those, grab a container of kimchi and a fork, and settle down to fall asleep in my recliner....covered in crumbs but very happy.

The meat is taken up and peeled off from the legs into suitable pieces, presented in a form alternately fat and thin layers and sprinkled with spices.

When the mold is full, fill it up with soup. You put a small chopping board in the appropriate size on top and this creates a light pressure that keeps the meat in the soup.

When sylten is cold, turn it out of shape. Sylten sliced ??and eaten with stewed potatoes or rye bread, pickled beetroot and mustard.

I can understand that - it's a similar issue for me with the texture of the gelatin in head cheese. The grit is the corn meal.

The child is first offered to the father, then the grandparents, then other family members are sought out to take custody of the child. If no one suitable is found the child is put into a foster home until such time as the mother has finished her sentence as is deemed to be a fit parent. Of course I'm just a Correctional Officer who works for the oldest operating Penitentiary in the U.S... obviously BT knows better than I.

I've read that some places now have programs where the infant can stay with the mother until they're a year old. Can't remember the source though, and it's definitely not wide-spread.
