For me, it's V by Thomas Pynchon.

I know a lot about Benny Profane, but I not because I read about him. My friends are always aghast that I never read the book, I think a lot of them are lying about it just to fit in however. tongue

I like Pynchons stuff, I like it a lot...but it takes some work, and I'm lazy.

Any books you need to get off your lazy ass, put down your eCopy of the latest hot lesbian vampire masturbatory screed, and start reading?

Can you suggest any good lesbian vampire stuff?

I always wanted to read Atlas Shrugged so I could insult Rand fans from an informed standpoint but I can't make myself do it.

I've always meant to read the Tad Williams stuff but they are so long and fruity looking.

I also want to read the rest of the Old Man's War series.

Really, I have a few fantasy and sci-fi novels I keep meaning to read and don't get around to because the UF stuff is so light and easy.

i can't think of any yuri style paranormal. i'm disappointed in kim harrison. that series would have been so much better with ivy+rachel.

I actually have a lesbian fiction list and some of it is UF and PR but I'm not sure that any of it is actually good.

Considering some of it is listing Xena fan fiction I never bothered to sort through it.

If Ivy and Rachael don't end up together, I'm gonna be pissed at Ms. Harrison.

Killing off Matilina was bad enough, didn't give a damn about Kisten.....but damn, she has to let someone end up happy.

At this point it is more or less guaranteed they don't end up together.

The last book had that whole bit with Ivy letting Rachel go, that seemed to me to more or less be the end of any relationship chance they had. Plus, after nine books of Rachel not being interested in chicks there isn't much room to go back on that. The fact that Harrison has stated she thinks they will end up with different people is the nail in the coffin.

Of course, she could be going out of her way to misdirect us, but that level of planning doesn't seem to be her style.

I am actually a huge fantasy nut and have never read The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I read the Hobbit and loved it. I'm not really sure why I have never read the others.

I did the same thing...and to my surprise I actually enjoyed it. I'm told it's still sudo-psychology and any REAL 'student of psychology' laughs at her pathetic attempt. But I liked it.

Just finished reading Ender's Game and then I was so into it I bought and read Ender's Shadow. Don't know how I missed that one.

Pretty much what I did a year ago! I liked that it was also a simple read, for the most part.

I haven't read any Stephen King books. shhh

The sound of lesbian vampire books is appealing to me. Do tell if you find any worthwhile. grin

I have read a lot, if not most, of his work. He spends a looooooootttttttttt of time developing characters, but after that he can tell a good tale. I finally read The Dark Tower series a few months back. While it gets slow towards the late middle of the series, it is still worth a read.

I never finished the Dark Tower series. I stopped at the book before Wolves of Calla. I like most of his other stuff. The Stand was my favorite book for many years.

They just released the completely uncut version of The Stand on audiobook. Apparently, the original unabridged version had 400 pages cut, so this puts them back in along with some new material King added for the occasion. Listening to it now, love that story!
