Subject: Android 4.0 on my Nook Color
Tonight I'm installing Android 4.0 from the good folks at CyanogenMod onto my Nook Color.

This is a new alpha version OS on an old single core 800MHz tablet with 512MB of memory and weak GPU, so this should be interesting.

Using this guide from XDA...

Work still in progress, will report back later.

I have two complaints with 4.0 on my GTab 10.1

First, no camera for silly times with the woman.

Second, there is a blackout before any landscape / portrait orientation change.

Have CM9 build 109 installed and setup. I have not done or really looked at any performance improving tweaks yet. Just straight after imaging the ROM on and waited for all my syncing to complete, have to say it's almost unbearably slow. The default keyboard seems a bit messed up too (all the keys are really tall).

I'll mess around more tomorrow and see if I can speed this up. I'll just replace the keyboard anyway, so no worry there.
Wifi already just shut off in the middle of me trying to get to the Market app, while I was trying to get to settings (takes a while), the wifi came back on.

It's neat to get a look at ICS, but I suspect it's going to be a bit more than this Nook Color can handle.

I recently updated my nook color with whatever latest release version they have out. Other than it locking up once in a while, it runs perfectly. The battery life is awesome and I am very happy with it.

The recent B&N update broke my root (usually does), so figured it was a good time to try out CM9.

The CM9 experiment has ended. It was just way too slow to really use. Trying CM7.2 now. Reason I was using a rooted stock image before was CM7's battery life was absolutely abysmal. Hope it's a little better.
