My droid 2 crashes four times a day now. I'm the only one with this problem that I know of. I'm even using my moms phone now and she never had this issue. I've uninstalled all apps and yet the phone still crashes. I've taken out the SD card, and it still crashes. I've installed Task Managers to kill programs if theres too much memory in use and it still crashes (but have gone without any such programs for months and it still crashes). I've swapped out batteries and... You get the idea.

At this point it seems to be crashing a little better. Earlier the screen would just freeze and I've have to remove the battery to reset it. Now the screen goes a little funky (like when Nintendo used to freeze, gets all pixelated or has a line running through it with the top frozen and the bottom video-gibberish). I can at least turn screen off and then it fixes itself after a minute or so.

Yay progress.

Anyway, I doubt iphones crash this much.

My G2 crashes way less than my G1. They are improving things. My browser still crashes every so often though

The problem with iphone iOS crashes is that most people do not know how to close their applications. I've seen a lot of people that have 20 or more applications running. They think they are closing iOS applications, but they are really just minimizing them. They have had their iphone for years with NEVER closing any applications.

To close your iphone applications you double tap the home key real fast so that it shows the running applications on the bottom of the screen. Hold a finger tip on one of the application until it shakes and you get a red "-" on all of the applications. Then tap the red "-" on each application to close that application. Otherwise, they all keep running even after you turn the phone off and back on.

Anothe problem with crashes is caused by people downloading a new graphic intensive application made for the newest iphone and running it on an older device. You can see this in the reviews of games in the app store a lot.

if you have tried every possible software solution, then its likley a hardware problem. And not an Android fault.

One thing I noticed is sometimes my GPS will just bugout on my android. It will give crazy directions. I found the way to fix this was to reboot the phone. Something must be going on!

This is the third (droid 2) I've gone through with this exact issue. I'm the only one I know with this issue.

I have the same issue with the Droid X. Not as frequently as it was before the latest Android update a few months ago, but it still freezes, crashes, unmounts the SD card, and other assorted crappy behavior. My wife's did the same until she loaded a custom ROM, but now she's left with an unsupported ROM that won't allow some apps to update.

I sure as hell don't believe an android website that claims androids crash less than iPhones. There are many great things about Android. Some of them come at the cost of stability. Trying to claim otherwise is just stupid.

I had a Droid X for over a year and now have an iPhone 4, my wife had a Droid for a few years and also went to iPhone.

I can count the number of times I had to restart my iPhone since getting it in July on one hand, meanwhile with my Droid X it was a daily routine of removing the battery and restarting the phone, same with my wife.

Granted a lot of the cool things I could do with Droid I can't do on an iPhone but I only need to make phone calls, check my email and be able to surf the web.
