I'm part of the search for the missing climbers on Mt Rainier - we're scouring the Muir snow field tomorrow, then up past 11,000ft to look for bodies on the glaciers. A bad reason, but any reason to go climbing is a never a bad thing to me.

It was impossible for almost a week after they went missing, and work constraints kept me grounded until now. Hopefully we find SOMETHING - I heard reports that a group discovered a pair of skis with skins jammed into the snow on the route to the summit...

Honestly? We won't find a damn thing until late spring. The riding assumption was that at least one of the groups made it to the Camp Muir public shelter; no such luck :/ How the hell the campers (at 7000-9000ft) didn't have gps or a compass/map and the ability to use it is absolutely beyond me *sigh*
