The most embarrassing thing about this is that dems believe that Bush just "paid off" his friends, but that the current admin was doing the right thing and just happened to pay off his friends.

Partisans will excuse anything their guy does versus the other guy.

For example, back when the Bush administration was campaigning for war on Iraq, the opposition jumped up and down to listen to the IAEA's statements on if Iraq had WMD weapons (Iran didn't as history so famously bore out). But now that same opposition is famously silent on the fact that the IAEA is saying that Iran isn't producing weapon material while Israel refuses all attempts to join international nuclear agreements or submit itself to inspection. Iran has joined agreements and does submit itself to inspection.

But according Zionists and the ultra big government Obama support team, it is Iran we have to be afraid of and get ready to wage war on (three carrier groups in or on the way to the Persian gulf as I write this).

If this wasn't the "first Black president", there would be a very strong possibility of an impeachment proceeding already. But race card politically correct politics (cultural Marxism) prevents that and prevents people from using their memory for where they stood only five to ten years ago.

Crony capitalism isn't a winning campaign issue because both Democrats and Republicans do it. Is there any reasonable expectation that Romney or Gingrich will not engage in it themselves? So the parties don't have any reason to bring it up.

Although, with all the supposedly unaffiliated SuperPAC money around this year, some folks who don't care if bringing up cronyism sinks the Republicans as well could end up putting out ads to remind people of it. grin

Pfffft. Besides all the reich-wing bleating this is a non-story.

Silicon was $350/kg.

Solyndra comes up with the great idea to make solar panels using much less or no silicon.

Silicon falls to $30/kg.

Solyndra's alternative solar panels no longer cheaper than traditional silicon-based designs.

It probably would have been fine if the price of silicon didn't collapse. So the investments were probably reasonable at the time they were made unless the government had some knowledge about the upcoming silicon price crash. grin

And let's not forget the Chinese subsidize their solar industry so heavily that it's nearly impossible to compete with them.

Oh, and Friar. That was an opinion piece. laugh

So yeah, remember you're a retard come election time.
