The PvP MMO is NOT a "niche" market, Mythic is just a "niche" company.

Yup, I hear everyone talking about emails and skypes and stuff while deployed and I'm like, 'I was lucky if my mail made it home before I did'.

Babies obviously.

edit:

And a lot of the tech in this picture has been around for almost 20 years.

It was just really expensive and not necessarily available in the part of the world that you were deployed.

Just imagine what soldiers 20 years from now will have...

When I was deployed on a carrier back in the late 80's through early 90's, we looked forward to the "cod" plane arriving, the C-2 Greyhound - which meant we were going to get mail and/or packages.

I spent 9 months 21 days (not that I was counting) pounding the sands of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait back in 90-91.... I got to make TWO phone calls home... and when we saw the HMMWV with orange bags in the back, we knew it was MAIL CAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

When I was in Nam back in '66, we were lucky to get one telegraph a year from our loved ones back home. And if you turned your back for one second Charlie was likely to sneak up and gut you from behind quicker than you could tap out S.O.S.
