I feel like his food reviews aren't the most honest. He rarely doesn't like something unless it's cooking an omelet in dirt in Africa or something.

I like the No Reservations show though overall, I find him entertaining. I've only seen one episode of the newer Layover one, and I don't really see the point of it. Not many people go somewhere for only 24 hours and plan to do stuff the entire time.

I think his point is more, "If you're going here, these are the things you need to do instead of the normal touristy things." It's a travel show where you can actually do the things he's doing, and, importantly, may actually want to do them.

If he's eating a food that's not good, he's not going to put it on the show because that's not the point of the show. No Reservations is not a food critic show... It's a travel show that focuses on food. =|

Well yeah, sometimes it's places he likes, but I mean when he goes to another country and a local shows him around to random restaurants. There's never been a time when he was like "Oh this is pretty decent, but their technique is really different than what I usually like". It's always just oh this is great.

I feel like he would say that regardless of where he goes so as not to offend whoever he is with. Like I say, I still like the show, I just wouldn't necessarily see him at a restaurant and count on it being good just on his opinion.
