I feel like his food reviews aren't the most honest. He rarely doesn't like something unless it's cooking an omelet in dirt in Africa or something. I like the No Reservations show though overall, I find him entertaining. I've only seen one episode of the newer Layover one, and I don't really see the point of it. Not many people go somewhere for only 24 hours and plan to do stuff the entire time.

I think his point is more, "If you're going here, these are the things you need to do instead of the normal touristy things." It's a travel show where you can actually do the things he's doing, and, importantly, may actually want to do them.

If he's eating a food that's not good, he's not going to put it on the show because that's not the point of the show. No Reservations is not a food critic show... It's a travel show that focuses on food. =|

Well yeah, sometimes it's places he likes, but I mean when he goes to another country and a local shows him around to random restaurants. There's never been a time when he was like "Oh this is pretty decent, but their technique is really different than what I usually like". It's always just oh this is great. I feel like he would say that regardless of where he goes so as not to offend whoever he is with. Like I say, I still like the show, I just wouldn't necessarily see him at a restaurant and count on it being good just on his opinion.

He's contributing to the obesity problem in the United States. What is America's obsession with food and food people? Bourdain, Ramsay, and all the others should be charged with crimes against public health.
