More like Woody Allen in Owen Wilson. He looked like Owen Wilson but he talked and acted like Woody Allen.

Yeah I had the same thoughts as well, it was like he was channeling Woody Allen.

All in all it wasn't too bad of a movie. I don't generally like Woody Allen movies, but I would recommend this one.

i dont watch woody allen movies

it gives me the creeps that he fucks his daughter.

and before the outpost pedos defend him, even his son doesn;t want anything to do with him

Allen and Farrow's biological son, Ronan Seamus Farrow, said of Allen: "He's my father married to my sister. That makes me his son and his brother-in-law. That is such a moral transgression. I cannot see him. I cannot have a relationship with my father and be morally consistent... I lived with all these adopted children, so they are my family. To say Soon-Yi was not my sister is an insult to all adopted children."[

It wasn't totally awful like most of the stuff Woody Allen has made in the last...20 years or so.

But maybe that's cause it didn't aim high in the first place.

It's good most of the artists just had 5 minute cameos because the ones that didn't got really old. By the end you were ready to strangle "Hemingway."

That's pretty much been the case with every Woody-less Woody film in the last decade (or two). It's called the Woody Surrogate. What I understand is Woody himself encourages his actors NOT to do that, but they do it anyway. I guess it's like playing James Bond. Josh Brolin did it in You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger; Larry David did it in Whatever Works; Rebecca Hall in Vicky Cristina Barcelona; etc, etc.

Woody hits more than he misses (though when he misses, it can be excruciating... see: Another Woman on Netflix Instant), and Midnight in Paris is a definite hit. It's a fantastic movie, probably second behind The Skin I Live In for my favorite of 2011.

Brody was hilarious as Dali and the befuddled "Why can't they just leave the room?" question posed by Bunuel in regards to The Exterminating Angel was gold.
