Would you go on a second date with someone you know you wouldn't want to marry? If so, why?

Hell yes!

If the first date was fun, why not go out again?

Depends if I knew I was stringing her along or not.

If she was only interested in a more serious relationship and I knew for sure I wasn't I don't think I am enough of a douche to string her along.

depends on why you are dating. Rationally there are only two reasons. Long term relationships that result in positive impacts and short term fun. If you know youa re going to break up you have to balance the short term fun against the pain a breakup will cause you both if you continue.

Generally id' say yes, because you could be wrong and fun is fun. but that wouldn't always be true obviously.

I never plan on getting married again. So every date is with someone I don't plan on marrying.

Who thinks about marriage on the second date?

Most women.. maybe not all women are always on the look for the provider..the stabilzer. It is how our minds operate. She is already tallying up on you..be she a homemaker or a woman who doesn't really need a man in her life.
Unless she has already made it clear, and some do..all she wants is sex. Our minds are crankin' 100 miles an hour. It's not very attractive for the majority of us to think that way..but it is nature. It is the basic design on our brains.

Just like men we are weeding things out..first date ok fun..second date..hmmm..i don't think I like this about him..therefore why waste time on a 3rd date..etc...he/she is not someone i would ever want to live with or marry.

Again, not judging..and I am not talking about 17 year old girls going on their first date..I am talking about women who are in the right age group and want to start a family.

I want to get married but I have to date the chick for at least a year before we can talk about it. Since I can barely get a girlfriend now that seems remote

You can get a girlfriend. Stop sabotaging things, set unattainable expectations, etc. Have fun with her, laugh, love...the rest will take care of itself.

Yes.

Humans need companionship. Just because you don't think you could marry someone doesn't mean they can't help you meet that need for now.

Why wont you marry her? Because she is ugly(inide or out)? Or because she is not grounded/stable enough to be a good wife? How can you tell the latter after one date. The former (being ugly) - of course i would not want to see her a second time.

Probably not. If he was so offensive I already wrote him off on the first date, then I probably wouldn't enjoy spending time with him. I suppose it depends on why exactly he's not "marriage material." First impressions can be wrong.

This. But if we're both clear about what's happening then hey why not have some fun.
