There are a number of songs on that list for which I was thinking the same thing... Billy Ray Cyrus...?

Also a number of songs that I realized were hits basically because the band sounded very much like another - e.g. Sex and Candy - Marcy Playground - I thought for years that this was a RHCP tune.

Wasn't there a big controversy about Bittersweet Symphony? They sampled too much of a melody from the Rolling Stones osmethin.

For most of those songs, you just gave me a flashback to middle school and high school. Not sure if I want to smack you or give you a pat on the back.

the 90s was one of the first years of the one-hit-wonders.

its when bands really had to have a video on mtv to even get close to being popular and even then it was only the one song that got played on mtv constantly which made the charts.

all of those bands are one hit wonders.
all bands now adays are one hit wonders.
the days of long lived bands like the stones, zeplin, ramones, misfits, etc are gone.
