Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Love this stuff, but it takes forever to boil! for those of you who don't know what quinoa is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quinoa Either way it's like rice but good for you, chock filled with nutrients and fiber. Takes ages to make, serving it with a chicken curry with lots of bell peppers, chili, cream etc.. good stuff

Forever to boil? I doesn't take long at all.. Boil water first then drop in the quinoa, it should take no longer than 10-12 minutes to cook. Much faster than rice and much better for you.. I make it all the time, red quinoa is nice too.. Not sure what you are doing but doesn't sound right...

Most quinoa in the US is sold with the outer coating already removed. If you ever buy natural quinoa, or buy it in South America (no idea how it is sold in Europe) you have to soak the hell out of it, changing the water a couple of times over 10-12 hours before you can cook it. I eat quinoa a couple of times a week. I like it for breakfast cold, in salads, in soups, and I make quinoa and yam latka a couple of times a month. They are awesome.

Ahh that could be why then, because I find it quick to prepare..
