what do you do for your DI water?

I tried to create a primitive distillation apparatus that yielded unsatisfactory results.

are there any cheap DIY solutions aside from purchasing an expensive distiller?

My mother uses one for sleep apnea. She buys a gallon of distilled at the supermarket for $2 and it lasts a long while.

yeah I tried to do that for mine as well, problem being is I use a ton of the water so it gets annoying/expensive to buy a bunch of it at once.
