That book could have been cut in half and still been just as good, at least Sanderson did not murder of all the interesting characters but then again he has a second book coming.

why is one of the characters being followed by Tinkerbell?

I just feel that they could have gotten more done.. Other then that a really good book, I hope Sanderson likes my money and sees it as a spur to finish that last robert jordan book.

I am predisposed to like Sanderson's books and I enjoyed TWoK but I did feel like it was slow more or less throughout. I hate flashbacks in any book I read and I didn't like the flashbacks in this book but on the balance I didn't mind them as much as I typically mind flashbacks.

I give it a 4 out of 5.

that's the parts I would have removed to be honest they did nothing to bring the story forward it gave his character a bit of depth "oh he's a surgeon, oh he hates light eyes because the nobility are dicks"

I remember reading it and enjoying it, but can't for the life of me remember what it was about. That isn't all that uncommon for me however, as I read a lot of books, and doesn't mean it isn't worth remembering.

I do know I was pleasantly surprised by it, as I haven't been a huge fan of his other books thus far. I also really enjoyed the new Mistborn #4 (and I hated book 3 and disliked book 2).

I think the guy has some wonderful plot ideas and has great ability with making me care about his characters.....but he tends to drone on about stuff I couldn't give a crap about at times. Be interesting to watch how his writing comes along as he gets more talented editors and hones his ability.

I thought it was a great book and really wish it had a bit more back ground than the 1/2 chapter at the beginning.

So far his editor on every book has been some guy named Mosha at Tor. From the way he talks I think he intends to stay with that same guy for the foreseeable future.

My favorite Sanderson book is Warbreaker followed by Mistborn 1 and then TWoK. I haven't read Mistborn 4 yet, however.

Really liking Sanderson, blasted through all his books in the last couple of months and enjoyed them so much that I decided to wade through WoT (which I gave up on at book 5) just to see how he finishes it.

I liked way of kings, did not mind the slow pace really I suppose it could have been a bit faster and I could have done with less of the annoying daughter trying to get in with the princess chapters but overall im pretty excited for the series.
