As a candidate in 2008, Barack Obama promised that if he was elected president he would not issue obscure declarations known as signing statements that thwart the intent of laws passed by Congress. But as the president now seeking reelection in 2012, on at least 20 occasions Obama has embraced the same tactic he criticized George W. Bush for using, raising allegations of double-dealing in Congress and questions of constitutionality from the American Bar Association.
Obama’s most recent signing statement came on New Year’s Eve, when he autographed a 13-paragraph memorandum declaring he did not intend to follow several sections of the National Defense Authorization Act that funded the military for 2012. The president said his lawyers had concluded the provisions interfered with his constitutional duties to carry out foreign policy.

I'd like to know exactly what provisions he's ignoring and that's about it. If it gives him even more power then he's a triple douche. If it really is to thwart bad legislation then kudos to him for working the system.

Signing statements were a non issue when Bush was President. They continue to be a non issue.
They carry no weight whatsoever. The President may as well be writing poems or recipes on there.

It has nothing to do with the word problem. It's the fact that LMGTFY types so slowly that it takes about a minute for the entire search string to be entered. It just did a quick copypasta from Grymlo's copypasta into LMGTFY to get the tinyurl without really thinking about what end result would be.

That seems like a weak example. As far as the story makes out the "signing statement" is just "I think this part is unconstitutional so I won't follow it."
That isn't what people were mad at Bush for.
