LOL Mangler, does it really bother you that much to see someone happy? There were plenty of years I was very poor so I do not feel bad about it. And there are lots of cars I would like to have. If I was filthy rich my garage would be larger than my house.

what does reasonably afford mean.. are we talking 1/2 your annual salary, 2x your salary etc?

I mean they have 7+ year loans now if you must have something you really can't afford.

Depends upon how long I plan on living.

I could afford just about anything if I planned (or expected) to die in the next year or so.

If I fool myself into thinking I'm gonna be around another 20 years.....I might be able to afford a 91 Civic....if I get a good deal on it.

To me it would mean you could finance. Up to you if you would trade a car in or if it would be your daily driver. Guilt levels are very personal.

No I didn't, but my car is optioned out to cost more than a base SRT8. People value things differently and I go what I wanted for my own personal reasons.

I guess you're right. I could have spent another 10k and have gotten a much stiffer drive, Brembo brakes that need to have a brake job every year or 2 and costs 1 to 2k, much worse gas mileage, less aftermarket upgrades available. I just don't know why I wasn't so stupid. And especially when the car I have already has more power than I'll ever use. It can't be that I enjoy the ride and like the style can it?

I love the new Rubicon Jeeps, but they are way over priced.

35k or more for those? I'd pay low 20s for what you get.

It would make sense that many if not most people drive their favorite car that they can reasonably afford, wouldn't it?

So, BMW 5 series touring. E61 since I can't reasonably afford an F11 for quite a few years.

http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/fcking-magnets-how-do-they-work

“F Magnets, How Do They Work? is a lyrical reference to the 2009 single Miracles by the Insane Clown Posse, an American hip hop duo from Detroit, Michigan. The song describes the wonders of the universe and an appreciation for nature’s beauty, while angrily eschewing science. Among the most quotable lines can be heard at 1:52, “f magnets, how do they work,” which instantly became a popular catchphrase on the web.

I'd be happy with most new import cars, TBH. In terms of affordability? I'd go Jetta, Civic or Corolla, most likely. Like them all, as far as I know (not test driven any, soo....)

Mangler had an accident on the way home from the liquor store. He was run off the road and crashed into a woman's clinic. It was one giant Pabst smear.

i like the mid size coupes like accord/altima. i think my ideal car, which i could afford, would be one of those with all the options and some pimped out extras. i would not want a luxury car just because i'd feel obligated to spend too much time maintaining it and be paranoid about where i park it. right now i drive a honda accord coupe but only the base model. i have owned an audi a5 before (used) but i drive mostly short distances so the accord feels the same.
