And not just knockoffs of casual Flash games you find on armorgames.com? I don't see why it would not be possible. If the iPad can handle Grand Theft Auto III it can surely handle Master of Orion 2 or Civ2. And it would be a lot less annoying than trying to play an action game on a tablet. edit: hell, while I'm at it: is there any way to sync your iOS device's Safari bookmarks with your PC's Safari? Hell, it's the only reason why I downloaded the piece of crap to my PC and I can't get it to sync because i r dum

I think Civilization Revolution is coming to it if that is what you mean by "real strategy" whether or not the AI will suck horribly is another question Oh yeah Civilization Revolution already came out, I remember the AI was very predictable and limited especially late game even on the hardest difficultly. It wasn't a challenge http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsD6irFkY_0 <-- Civ 5 Mobile coming out apparently

People who use iPhones/iPads aren't smart enough to play games like that.

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/blog/164/ios-board-games There are a large number of board game ports on iOS. I would think that some would fall under the strategy category and include an AI opponent option.

Anomaly Warzone is a good iPad TD. For iPhone GeoDefense Swarm is amazing. Also for strategy, there is Settlers of Catan. I also think there is a port of Carcassone. The Pirates port is very decent. I am waiting anxiously for the MoO type game by Zarkoft called Empire of the Eclipse, which is just finishing up Beta.

Since this year includes moving, finishing a Masters internship, a $100 million go live project at work, and a new baby I am pretty much looking forward to all of my gaming being in fifteen minute spurts on the iPad.

GLWG isn't bad, though it's more of an iPhone / Android game than an iPad game. I like the Android version, but it has some stability issues on my phone. Since it was probably an iOS port, the Apple version is probably more stable. I bought Ticket To Ride (the board game) for my wife for Christmas. I also bought us an iPad. She promptly located and purchased the iPad version of Ticket to Ride. It's pretty decent, much less effort than the board game, but the AI is a bit off sometimes. Not a replacement for the board game when we have company over, but it's nice to play a quick 2-player game with an AI or two thrown in while watching TV. Still waiting for something to rise to the level of the great strategy PC games on the iPad, though. AT's MoO knockoff sounds promising.
