Looking for a hobby or two to start up. Was thing of picking up a cheap guitar or something used from a friend and learning.
So whats up ACF what sort of things do you do just to do it. I do have a R/C Helicopter collection but thats in NY right now. I don't want to start over cause it's a pricey hobby. So i'll have to wait till I go get those back to play with that hobby.

Collecting expensive devices to do hobbies, basically if I start something, I go all out and end up with thousands of dollars of stuff to do that hobby with. Last year I sold my Bass, but I still have a couple of Amps, mics, cables, pre-amp etc from that misadventure.

my best friend and I used to rockhound, but not a lot of stuff to find easily in the PNW, we found jade a few times, but we did find lots of leaf fossils in the shale, and a couple geodes with quartz inside.

I have a few that have already been mentioned, but I also have the following:
Juggling
Stunt kite flying
An advantage to those is they are both free once you make the initial investment in some good equipment. (assuming you don't crash your kites hard and need to replace spars or shred up your line)
I've also started making my own stunt kites..so far I've only started to make one from a template, but I want to make a couple more and then start designing my own after I get a better handle on the process.

I find agate pretty often at the beach, and I brought a bunch of petrified wood back from SE Alaska. Rock collecting has been a family hobby for many years, my grandmother and aunt both collected rocks from the beach and I inherited those, and I'll be passing them on to my son who started collecting driveway rocks when he was 3 or 4.

You don't generally just happen upon one. We were fossil hunting in the Peace River in Central FL. We have three broken ones and one really nice one that's about 2". They're all black/grey. Pretty much any fossil in the river is like that.
