Ron Paul should have as much appeal for socially liberal Democrats as he does for fiscally conservative Republicans.
For him to win the general election, he would need considerable support from independents and Democrats.

Despite finding the idea laughable that Paul would actually clinch the Republican nomination, I think it would be a very interesting matchup. Obama leans more right than most liberals would like and Paul leans more left than most conservatives would like. Granted, I think Paul would destroy America, but other than that, as a moderate I don't think this country could lose!

Maybe, but he doesn't need just legislation to affect change.
Bringing all the troops home, nullifying all active Executive Orders and negating policies and procedures within the departments that were created w/o Congressional approval is a lot of change he can effect w/o needing the legislative branch.
Also slowing all legislation by taking the full 15 days before vetoing is another way to slow the pace of idiocy within the legislative branch

If ron paul wins the nomination it will make this place and the election in general significantly more entertaining. The only problem is that Ron Paul is not very popular. But we can get around this by pretending that independants and moderate dems secretly support the 'States Rights' mantra and will gladly jump to the right if given the chance.

It's not that the MSM ignores RP, it's that they either ignore, dismiss, twist, misrepresent, or blow out of proportion anything and everything about him depending on the particular item and/or their needs/timing.
How can people not see how the MSM is corporate bias, that our Government is bought nad paid for by Corporations? RP is the last person they want in the WH... What we really need is a President who isnt afraid to tackle the tough social issues which are important to us. Where is the candidate who will tackle these issues by refusing to do anything about them at the national level? Where is the candidate who will give me a country where the basic rights of minority groups change when you cross state lines? Where is the candidate who spent years rounding up support by reminding us all to be terrified of brown people?
This doesnt seem to be correct. But maybe you are right. Although the miniscule support for Ron Paul in the past seems to give us a sign...
