Whos yapping about it now? You'd think they would have learned from the last election that this makes normal people think they are crazy.

Same as last time, a very small margin of people who the Democrats will claim is every person opposing them.

Well you cant really blame the Dems for using it as it makes the average GOP member look loony. Its pretty dumb of them to even bring it up.

A fringe element only makes the average look loony if you're indoctrinated by liars.

Kudos, you believe Republicans are a small margin of people. SO when did you wise up and realize half of the Republicans in many states are insignificant.

"Nearly half of usual Republican primary voters in Iowa think President Obama was not born in the United States, while barely one-quarter believe he was, according to a PPP poll released on Tuesday.

In the poll, 48% of registered Republican voters said Obama was not born in the U.S., while 26% said he was. Additionally, 26% said they were unsure.

That percentage is actually slightly better than the national average for typical Republican primary voters, a majority of whom believe Obama was born outside the U.S. In February, a PPP poll found that 51% of registered Republican voters said Obama was not born in the U.S., compared to 28% who said he was, and 21% who were unsure.

However, the high birther base does not necessarily mean that the issue will be critical in determining which candidate wins Iowa. Donald Trump, who has vaulted to the front of several polls through a media blitz in which he’s repeatedly questioned Obama’s birth, placed a modest third in the poll’s hypothetical primary election. While 19% of voters who doubted Obama’s citizenship backed Trump, 25% broke for Huckabee.

The PPP poll was conducted April 15-17 among 419 registered Republican voters. It has a margin of error of 4.8%."

I'm sad to say my Mother is a birther.

When my family votes, we just cancel each other out. I shouldn't have talked my mom into registering again 15 years ago.

that has got to be the smallest poll i have ever seen...though i usually dont pay THAT much attention.
BUT...419 really is a small amount of voters.

It's easy to wave polls around with the average person on either side, but would those 48% have been vocal or even thought about it if the poller hadn't come along? It's an interesting question because of the possibility that the liberal pollers themselves are spreading it by asking. Unless you have a poll that determines where those 48% received their information, we have to consider Democrats might actually be to blame.

I never understood what point people are trying to make when they say "he's half black and half white".

He's an African American, and a black American, as African Americans don't have to be "purebred". He appearance is that of a black person, which we all know has had much more importance as opposed to the exact shade of brown, or genetic composition. Jim Crow laws would have made no exception for Obama, and 20 years ago even Obama would likely have been un-electable due to his appearance.

Calling him only "half black" is both inaccurate and pointless, from what I can tell. Life experience and appearance wise, he is much more than "50% black".
