Poor coding. The site can't handle the param being there. It works fine if you take it off though. I'm guessing it is an expired session ID or something, lol.

Make sure you get carbon monoxide sensors in your house. We were almost killed by a pellet stove. I wish I could have warned you before hand. Our first 2 years in WA state we rented. One house had a pellet stove and I woke up one night with very thick smoke in the top 4 feet of the house. The electric pellet feeder had malfunctioned and loaded up the burner with more pellets than it could burn and the smoke started filling up the house. Luckily I woke up in time to see the smoke before it filled the house and put us all into a permanent sleep. We never used it again. And the idiot owners in the duplex next to us were pissed that we would not use it. There are some truly stupid people in WA.

PVI pellets are the kind we got and they said the 279 a ton should last us the rest of the year easy

I would say with wood we went through about 4 coords a year.. this year I spent 400 on 2 coords of wood

and the pellet stove is SOOOOO much easier and safer than wood

lol at the creasol that was inside that chimney when we pulled the wood insert out of the chimney.. it had been cleaned last year... if you burn wood, clean your chimneys guys happy (we didn't use it this year because I wasn't sure what we were going to do)

My sister has used a pellet stove for about the last 15 years and never heard her have a major issue with it like what Reap describes. I wonder if he had a load of wet pellets in it or the air intake get choked off or something. I wouldn't stop using it but I can certainly understand the fear off the product that such an event would produce.

Anyway, good point to check out all the detectors in the house and swap batteries.

This. If the stove malfunctions it will pick up the poisons that a normal smoke detector will not.

the only problem about a pellet stove from what I've heard is that they have a fan which requires electric, so if the power goes out, they are very ineffective.

That's hearsay, so take it for what it's worth.

Same with my parent's stove, even when they had a computer malfunction that caused too many pellets to drop at once on the first lighting.

At $1800 my wood burner paid for itself in the middle of the 2nd year. 4k takes a bit longer.

My brother installed a pellet stove this year and likes it. I like wood better and I don't need a generator to run it when the power goes off.

so? You don't think that they've improved things that detect that or rectify it if it's really a problem?

That sounds like an awfully high rate of consumption. I think you may want to back down the feeder a bit.

firewood is cheap where I live, its a lot less than buying pellets from a retailer.

Also I dont trust human engineering enough to have a automated wood burning stove in my basement running say 5 months out of the year..especially when the stove was made in china or built with parts that where manufactured there.

When I got home about 7 last night it had been running for about 8 hours with the feeder rate all the way up to 6.. My firend came over to look at it and gave me a few tips.. first thing he said is what you did.. WAYYY to high.. turned it down to just under 3. and put in another bag about 830 last night (it wasnt empty, but could take it) since I've turned it down it has been better.. I might even come down a little more to maybe 2.5

I remember a few years ago when there was that pellet shortage. At least here in California. Thats another thing you have to worry about.
