Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-16306742 He was nine years old when he was given his first MacBook - "one of the old ones," he says with a wry smile - and set about teaching himself animation software before progressing through iMovie, Final Cut Express and Final Cut Pro in his Wimbledon bedroom. He was doing it for fun - "I hadn't pushed out anything commercially," he says - which is somewhat reassuring given his age. But it was only a matter of time before he started experimenting with apps. He downloaded the iPhone development kit and designed his first piece of software when he was 12.

Not surprising, I'm sure he is far from unique.

. Mangler had an accident on the way home from the liquor store. He was run off the road and crashed into a woman's clinic. It was one giant Pabst smear. -Bou_Te . Soylent CLiKK -- It's PEEEEEOPLEEE

I started programming C when I was 7. It's just a skill like any other. It's not some super complicated hard skill that requires decades of training to work up to.

Programming does not equate with genius.
Anyone can program, if you take the effort to learn it.
Hell, most full time programmers I know are socially inept and always a bit.....off. (Read: MOST, not all, even you programmers would agree with that)
Coming up with an app idea is the far more impressive piece to the story.
