It's mostly a time thing.
Get about 1-2 hours a night if I want to get enough sleep to maintain sanity. (Young Kids + Job)
Unfortunately you can't maintain a marriage by ignoring your partner to play a game.
I either get really into a game, or I'm out. There is no casual for me. That's more of the problem.

This is always the case near launch. Just about every decent MMO (Not counting random F2P ones) I've played the last 2-3 years have been at capacity or very close to it around launch. Most have had queues the first week~.

I loved SWG for awhile.
Then I got commando unlocked and realized that rocket launcher, flamethrower, and grenade(the main 3 abilities) were all worthless due to a range bug and a lack of large creatures to use them on.
Quit and never went back.

SWTOR is a strange game for an MMO. I didn't really care for it on the beta weekend. But I've been having a blast with it this past week. With that said I am not sure if it will be a long lasting or long term game?
It's actually very good as a somewhat single player game. It is far more solo player focused than any other MMO. And that part of it is where the Bioware traditional storytelling shines. It's fun. I'm just not sure what happens when you run out of it?
The group stuff is decent. It lacks the pain factor that WoW's Dungeon Finder system currently inflicts on its playerbase. If you group with someone, its because you chose to group with them (friend/guild/etc) but some of the solo quest mechanics almost discourage this.
As far as the MMO portion of the game. Once again it's strange. Yeah there are a few great systems (The NPC followers. Spaceships) but much of the rest feels like a really really great well polished MMO from 2004. Bioware seems to have completely forgotten a lot of little expected core features or UI features. Things like being able to actually adjust or customize your UI! Or how about a /random 100 command? Left click on someones name to invite them to group? Guild? etc? Just little things mixed in with some really good stuff that show that while Bioware does great RPG's, they are total rookies at MMO's. (Don't believe that, go read their Customer Service forums and look at how badly they have handled a lot of stuff the past week during pre release.)
Overall I would say that the game is easily worth playing, at least for the first 90 days or so. It's worth it for the good Bioware stories alone. After that we shall see how it goes. While I can't see it as a 5+ year gaming choice for me, like WoW or AC have been, I am looking forward to getting back into it tonight.

The only post I could find was from the financial post saying that ToR may reach 2 million sunscribers

its a lot more than 300k, 300k is just for one quarter.
wow has been shedding an average of a 100k subscriptions per month since Cataclysm came out. this is why they are pushing Panda land out really fast.

Every MMO since WoW launched, as soon as it starts people chat about either:
1) How this new game got this feature right, unlike WoW

3) It would be cool to have (insert random) feature, like in WoW

Want to be a profanity idiot? Answer the middle. Oh and then once the dialogue is done, your quest is to go talk to someone else.

I'm not bashing you for liking that gameplay, I just don't understand why this is an MMO.

I for one don't like single player games. Or I am always thing, "Gosh, this would be great if it were multi-player" You know, someone to share the game play with. So I enjoy the swtor model.
I don't enjoy some bad decisions they have made, (No rollback after the valor incident) and the changes to Illum. Also, not being able to have your companion out in Illum is a huge downer since we used to give our companions presents there.
