The only reason I run GoArrow is for the awesome in-game map.

With acmaps.com down now, how about peeling just that atlas feature out of GoArrow?

Would be very cool.

Im not too familiar with GoArrow, found it very buggy. Virindi Bundle has built in maps (with no navigation feature). Check them out.

GoArrow is the plugin included in the Virindi Bundle that has the in-game maps.

Well, I believe Virindi Integrator also has a map feature, I personally tend to use go arrow for travel to co-ords more than anything else, I use the Radar and Minimap plug-ins for in dungeon travel.
Vtank has had a in-game map part in one of the sub sections FAR longer than GoArrow VVS has been around...

Is this correct? I don't want to put out bad info. And I don't want to install/uninstall Virindi Bundle again lol. I thought the map was part of GoArrow which is included in VB, maybe that map I love is part of another plugin included with the bundle. If so I stand corrected.

GoArrow VVS is just a rebuild of the GoArrow plugin with VVS enabled. It's been around far longer than VTank. The one thing that I don't like about the VTank maps is that it doesn't break the dungeons down by levels, so I can't look at it and visualize where I have to go if there are a bunch of winding tunnels between levels (i.e. the one where you get the new infusion for the SoLL).

VBundle supports two different sets of maps. It has its own integrator mapping feature, which shows members of your virindi fellow on it. You can pan, zoom, etc. You can even see where someone else in your vfellow is, even if you're in different dungeons. I use this map all the time, and its stable, quick, and reliable.

The new bundle also installs GoArrow using VVS. This is the second set of maps you can use via VVS. These are buggy and cause client crashes. I have since uninstalled these.

I'm talking about the detailed world or 'outside' map that I believe is linked through warcry. Tonight I'll install the Virindi Bundle again and verify which plugin it is a part of. Maybe the source for this is available and a simple plugin could be written that only displays this map. THAT would get me using VVS lol.

I don't get it.. why are you worried about "peeling" out just the atlas version? It's not like it's going to free up any more memory. Also, FYI.. the warcry database hasn't been updated in years. Check out http://vnboards.ign.com/ac_utilities/b5432/115462952/p1/?7 for a more up to date site.

I took over the web site from Darktorizo for the distrubution of the Warcry XML (database) file. Sadly, I am three months behind in updating this. I'll see if I can do the updates this weekend with the gift boxes coming out. One of the more troublesome issues of getting them out, is that there are six different version/varities for this XML (as you can see from the website).

On the upside, I went HD with the corrrdinates. The arrow will now lead you right to the target, within a matter of a few feet. Because of the trouble to change all the corrdinates, I have only just started to up them to HD. This is all thanks to Mag requesting it for settlement portals and Flip developing the tools for me to work on them. BTW, This tool has shrunk the size of the download of the XML to half it's size.

Thank you for all the great work Roogon happy

Having recently returned to AC (but not yet having the time I used to have in game) I have recently updated my main "vanilla" version of the database. The others I have yet to add and make changes to. The link for the "vanilla" one is in my signature.

What is HD?

I think he means he added more precision to the coordinates, so that it will point you to the exact spot.

Example: 50.5N 50.5E versus 50.59N 50.59E are actually not all that close together. The second one is much more precise.

High Def... yup more precise.

He's using Tings IG '/Atlas' command which records selected item to Atlas database and then
uses AC Companion to make edits as needed. It does record more precise co-ordinates.

Sorry Darktorizo for my abbreviation of HD. I started using that with Flip. As he said, I nick-name HD for High Definition location coordinates.

Here's a example of Fiun Rehlyun at the Fiun Outpost.
He is located at 95.9N 57.0W

His old coordinates in the GoArrow XML was ..
-95.90000
-57.00000

His HD location ..
-95.86302
-56.99708

Where he stands by himself, HD is not really needed (and a bit of overkill). Now, apply the same idea to the portals in the Town Network. Better yet, the portals at a Settlement Portals location. Then the value is gain.

In the credits above, I need to mention that VI had given me access to HD info too. Flip's tool is what made it easy, and needed.

I've yet to publish anything with HD numbers. My day job has had me busy in recent months. I'm working hard to get some release in the next few days.

As for the smaller size of the XML (helps with downloading it), I ran into a problem and had to back-track. The condense size version would not work with the Dereth Explorer mapping utility.
