No, I am careful to stay away from people private documents because I have a very strong respect for personal privacy.

This. I realize the need but I am even uncomfortable doing it on networks I manage to ensure people are complying with company policies. Don't get me wrong I do it diligently when required... I just don't enjoy it.

Yes it amazes me just how many boobie pictures get tossed around on my network.

If our manufacturing shop wasn't 100% male I'd probably say something.

I work in IT with company computers. Only time I'd do something like this is if asked by HR or a Director. And that means the employee messed up and is about to be fired anyway most likely.

My co-worker on the other hand. He frequently peeps at other peoples pictures, music, movies, etc. He told me he once found pictures of a guy who took pictures of his own Oscar Meyer Wiener.

On my second ship I was tasked with cleaning out the NAS we were using as the command share drive. Almost 40% of the commands network storage was porn... All male ship though so it was somewhat expected. Female Captain though laugh

My estimation of you has just ticked up a notch, sir. I don't have or save anything so I wouldn't be ashamed anyway, but I like that there are some that wouldn't even think of invading my "private" spaces. At work, since all the computers and even your "personal" drive space are owned by the company, there's not a chance anything would get saved.

Files on a work computer are not private. But I've only done it once, like I said I felt bad after.

At work, sure I don't really have a problem with it. I don't think I'd go on a hunt unless I felt I needed to though.

Someone's personal computer? eh, not really interested.

I need to start taking picture of our IT staff when they aren't looking and putting them all into my my pictures folder for the next time my computer breaks. To really make it have an effect though I'm going to need to have pictures of them through the windows of their houses too though.

Edit: Also should put a big red X on any of the pictures of ones that leave.

Better yet have it split into folders with all the ones that left in a folder called 'success' and all the current ones in a folder called 'inprocess'. tongue

I am the only IT person at my company.

We have 4 servers, 3 locations. Kansas, Oklahoma, and Charlotte.

Then I am the sole IT consultant for a group of radio stations that have stations all over Kansas and a new one in Missouri. Soon to have more in Iowa, Arkansas, and Oklahoma too.

I also do all the IT work for our Church.

I are a busy guy.

I have, and sometimes i wish people had more common sense before handing over their PC's

I've had a customer bring in a laptop that was put into sleep with firefox still open.... with 5tabs of porn.

Then this guy tries to tell me hes done nothing he can think of that could cause his system to be infected plain

I've also had one customer bring in his desktop stating it crashed, once bootable and going to delete IE's history/reset security to default i was asked to restore the previous sites/tabs they were on.

What a bad mistake that was, shemale and Craigslist adds for "Looking For big papa bears".
