'A Day in the Life of a Slacker' is more like it.

Dear Blizzard, for the last time, please understand that only 25% of the world's population can be catagorized as demonstraing observable behavior that places them in the "expressive quadrant" which appears to be the overriding culture of your company based on empirical data (see: Wilson Learning).

Translation: please do not throw more personal stories about Blizzard employees at your customers. If there is an issue with QA, 75% of your customers will probably not care about the "personalities" at Blizzard; they just want the quality fixed. Thank you.

Results please.

Something suspicious about throwing them for a loop with the treasure chest experience feature. If you operate from a spec, that should have been on the list, which means the test lead wasn't paying enough attention to the spec. If it wasn't on the spec or you don't have one, then /facepalm.

He's getting ~25k a year, as a Assistant QA Lead. Nothing to brag about or raise a family on but if you are single and have room mates, you're able to get by.

25k as an assist to a lead? I think you are seriously lowballing that, particularly for CoL in Irvine.

They are paying him 12 dollars an hour plus overtime, and he's one of the leads? You know they have all kinds of high caliber talent applying for a $10 an hour job as a tester.

He isn't getting over 30k and his lead isn't getting over 40k. Even at 30k they would likely just give him his lead status and then give his lead his Senior Lead title.

Clearly you lack basic reading comprehension. This is all you will get from me until you can "figure it out".

So I was right all along, they are hiring unemployed fry cooks who have been laid off from fast food restaurants to quality test their products.

It all makes sense now.

25,000 divided by 2080 hours is roughly 12 dollars an hour. Is there something I didn't understand about the "He's making roughly 25k a year"?

I call BS cause that is not even a living wage in California. My brother and his wife live in San Jose and crappy, low rent 1 bedroom hovels cost 1k+ per month. California is VERY expensive and their salaries are normally inflated due to this. A fry cook probably does better than this in most parts of lower CA.

What professional would work for those wages anywhere though? I could get those guys a job hauling seismic survey cable for 3 times that amount as well as build a career from it.
