Hey everyone, I was looking to get a new headset (mic) and just wanted some recommendations on a good one to get.

I'm looking for something in a decent price range ($100 - $150) with 7.1 surround sound. I've done some research but thought I'd see what everyone else liked to use or had an opinion on.

Doesn't need to be wireless, perfectly happy with wired.

Thanks!

I don't have an answer but I do have a related question. I wear hearing protection at work and have no desire to wear another headset on my off time. Does anyone have suggestions for a decent quality desk style mic?

Acao - My logitech has been great. Not really any noise issues or feedback problems. It's great for things like skype, mumble, vent, etc.

Astose - I have a set of logitech G35 headphones, but they're pretty heavy, and the microphone boom is very flimsy. I find I spend more time using my desk microphone and my old Zalman headphones. I just picked up the G35, and I'm thinking of returning them.

Thanks Ursa, I will have to check that one out. The last mic I had was so crappy I had to scream into it to be heard, finally threw it against the wall. That didn't help the sound but it made me feel much better.

Been using these for a few years now and love them. I'm on my third pair, they have tended to last a little over a year, which is well within the warranty, so all I do is pay for a new warranty when it breaks for a brand new pair.

I've got the latest revision of the G35's and have no issues, the last version of the G35's broke at the swivel after 2 years.

Used plenty of headsets and none of them compare to Tritton when it comes to build and sound quality. Also pretty comfortable.
