I'm surprising myself with my level of excitement for it. I actually *like* the talent revamp proposed. The way I see it, you have two or three ways of building your disc priest. That's all. And the difference between those three are basically: do I want archangel, do I need more haste, do I need a quicker shadowfiend summon. More or less.

Not very cool choices.

The new talent choices for them actually seem kind of fun. We'll see how it plays out, but I have a feeling it's going to be good.

And for all the Panadaren haters, I get what you're saying. However, if you were able to get used to cows on motorcycles with a Mr. T face and a space marine murloc sidekick, I think you can get used to bears doing backflips.

As for pokemon: always loved the cartoon, never actually played the video game or the card game (wait, was there a card game?) I'm excited for it -- if nothing else, we can finally name our companion pets, which I've been suggesting on the official forums for years.

And monk class? Literal dream come true.

Also digging there's no Big Bad Boss Monster in this one. Exploring the war between the factions makes sense, now that the worst threat to Azeroth is over.

Cautious. While I'd really like to play WoW again, my expectations are that they will continue shooting off their little toe at the direction of the Activision/GC wankers.

Voted "cautious" .. I will definitely be buying and playing it..but I think at this point in WOWs life..they aren't going to do anything that would really get me to vote "excited". I just don't invest that kind of time into gaming anymore to really expect anything to be more than a casual diversion.

They're expect MoP to cause most current subscribers to hand their account to their children when they quit/move on.

All part of the plan.

Just don't care. I don't see anything in the xpac so far to be excited about. Monks are a neat idea but I don't have any illusions that blizzard can pull off actually making them fun.

Blizzard will need to reallysurprise me (and probably a couple of million others) to have any hope of keeping subs up.

Cautiously optimistic. I like the Panderan's and the Monk class, not enough info on the talent changes (they don't have a great track record with these type of changes) and think 5 levels is not enough (once again).

GW2 looks pretty good, and guild-mates are moving to SW:ToR, so I'm not even sure if I'll be around to buy this when it releases.

I like Monks, and they are focusing more on Horde vs Alliance and there is no main villain giving us a break and letting the Devs have free play with dungeons and what not

But Pandas and Asian-isk continent while fine if its just a travelling brewmaster (ala Warcraft) feels so out of place in WoW

Mostly indifferent. I mean, I would like to check it out and explore it, but for the most part, I am still too deep in my "sick of wow" phase to care.

Maybe after another 6-9 months break from WoW I might care.

Looks like crap imo. Really cartonny and not digging the new areas at all. Plus all the other changes just dont jump out at me and make me go omgicantwaittoplay!

Pokemon? Naw.
Talents? Had that done last patch and failed horrible.
New area to do the same quests ive been doing for 5+ years? Pass
New monk class? Not looking forward to everyone rolling this. I expect it to be worse then dk
New area? Cant wait to rush through it and fly past it when i reach max level

I am pretty sure with it being void of innovation, laden with ripped off, rehashed ideas, and dumbed down to the point first graders will find in intellectually insulting, it will not only be a mockery of what was once the greatest MMO ever created it is going to be the laughing stock of the entire gaming industry.

i am a sad panda.

woulda preferred emerald dream or something else than pandas. WoW has always had silly stuff in it but this time the whole theme for the expansion seems silly. i woulda really preferred them to delve deeper into the existing world rather than throwing some brand new stupid race and zones at us.

Wow needed to become more mature and adult oriantated, but its gone for the childish theme. It's the same old same old from a 2nd rate development team that lacks creative ideas.

Im not sure what some of you guys were watching but I never seen anything in the new expansion that iv'e not seen before.

An extra 5 levels? Can't be bothered
Monks? Prefer Necro/Ranger
Pokemon Time sink
PvP Nothing

Im praying Guild-Wars 2 will be a huge success, else i think im done with games.Wow has killed creative development for the last 5 years.

My theory is Blizzard has been working on other games and WoW is a shadow of the team it use to be.I can tell by the lack of quality and fun in their content.

I didn't start playing WoW because of those cheesy races, I started playing WoW despite those dumb races because, for several years now, it's been the highest quality and most enjoyable MMO around. However, between Blizzard's questionable design decisions and some promising MMOs on the horizon, it's looking like WoW is going to have some real competition (which IMO they haven't really had since WoW launched). Once people have some real alternatives, features that otherwise might not have mattered, like art direction, are going to be used by consumers to make a choice between WoW and its competitors.

Compared to SW:ToR and GW2, "Kung Fu Panda Island Adventure" just isn't that exciting.

I think they did have competition at launch: EQ2 was out, a more "hard-core" game that inherited a large number of EQ players. But WOW won. So, ppl like myself moved to WoW.

I voted I am excited: Monks will be a great class, pandas and Far East landscape look great considering the rest of the game. Gameplay is the big unknown though.

Ya know, when you focus on the one thing people pick on because it happens to be an easy target, you really expose the lack of depth of your thought processes. We've had a bunch of threads discussing the things we like and dislike about MoP. Crawl back under your rock if you can't manage to rub two brain cells together and come up with something interesting to say.

So...

Im sure Warcarft 3/TFT had over 5 Million players and your telling me Everquest 2 had a chance? TFT and Starcraft were played all around the world.

As soon as the started advertising on these games they were guaranteed 2 million subs off the bat.

Open beta was very well done, and the game was smooth with a great UI.

Well that is the thing with competition or in some cases the lack of it. WoW had a good 5 or so years "being the greatest". Yet due to a lack of competition and time at being at the top, it didn't force Blizz to innovate as much as it should have or to maintain the quality. It is because of these factors that you see a decline in WoW and of its players.

The biggest of these I think is the lack of understanding where the game needed to innovate and change. Blizzard thought that it needed to change it s questing model, or it talent tree model, or even original content of the game. Yet, none of these were absolutely in dire need of change. The change and innovation needed was in adding more options for players to spend their time in game, in particular at end game.

All of sudden now with MoP we are seeing Blizz finally getting this as they are trying to implement these changes. Yet at the same time they are still trying to fix things that before weren't broken or in need of change in the first place, talent system being the prime one.

As far what I think of MoP personally, I will get it most likely at some point in time, but Cata was the last expansion I buy at release.

Many of the changes in Cata looked like results of focus groups. Many of the proposed changes with MoP look like results of focus groups. Focus groups can backfire if the groups are not balanced enough biasing the results, quite often with terrible results, look up New Coke.

Imagine if they went for the Goblin Tinker, that would of been so funny.

Robo goblin as the top tier spell.
Pocket Factory would work like the dks summon minnion spell.

ha ha ha

I always thought the Dark Ranger was most popular, the sea witch had a big fan base too.The Pandaran Brewmaster was a bit crap.BeastMaster was great but I think that ties in with hunter spec.
