Going to make my first Gaheris toons today when I get off work just to play around a bit. I sorta like the old zones (gall, troll, sidi, TG etc). I was wondering how gaheris works basically realms. Can realms work together? I know there isn't pvp but can different realms port into other realms zones? Sorry for the newbcake questions but it will be my first time. Also what is the best duo for running through epic level zones? Thinking about sm/sham but are there other great ones?

Even a premade guide would be helpful. I don't expect anyone to type out all the ins and outs of a server hehe.

Welcome to Gaheris. Yep, all 3 realms can and do work together. You can zone in and out of all three realms and have toons on all three sharing the same house. There is no timer on the server, so you can swap out as needed. Most gear is inter-ummm...usable by each realm. Usually the similar gear...such as cloth armor like a Semi Etheral Robe can be used by pretty much any cloth wearing caster. Helms always, and certain weapons are realm specific but only specific weapons. I'm not exactly sure how to explain that part. Staffs for example can be used by an Enchanter, Spiritmaster, Warlock...and can be from any realm. Friar staff however, can only be used by a friar. Make sense? Same is true of things like Axes, Two handed weapons, large weapons, etc. Someone else may be able to clarify that a little better. I'm not sure if anyone has done any type of guide but the people are pretty friendly and will answer questions.

I did do a piece a while back called Realm Points Gaheris Style to help explain the rp system here. I can't really say it's easier to get rps here, especially with the current slump in population, but it is differe4nt here. Hope it helps.

take a look on www.gaheris.net it has alot of usefull info.
a good due would prolly be a blocker and a pbae as u can get realm buffs, that way you have a easy way into a keep grp, or a blocker and a druid/shammy/cleric would work aswell i guess, good thing is you can mix them whateber way you want to get most out of it

and welcome to gaheris

Thank you for the help, as it was very informative.

One question, and maybe I should ask the class boards also, but what is a decent farming team on gaheris? I plan on doing some guild events when I find a decent guild also but I do play on offpeak hours so there may be some times I want to farm on my own.

I have a few in mind but wondering what works better.

Aug/mend healer and BA bd
Aug/mend sham or cleric with pet specced sm or servant necro.

I sorta want to farm down in trollheim or DF if I'm able to.

Both are good, though the latter is better. Any focus pulling class coupled with full buff spec healing class (druid/shammy/cleric) are good, though cleric does have the edge on pet buffs because of the heal proc and spec af.

2 tics are another great farming choice because they can pull pretty much nonstop. Especially with a good template with all the power recovery /use items in it.

warden/chanter or warden/bain can be good for small keeps and friar/warden is a good survivability duo for larger targets, though I find matter cabby/cleric good for large targets too (especially many epic encounters)

thinking of maybe aug healer/BA bd

Spec and base af on pets makes for some crazy absorb, that coupled with haste and celerity and decent heals could be pretty fast killing.

Wonder if spec buffs from the BA line will be terrible when compared to shaman buffs? I think I really like celerity and haste with stacking af buffs on pets. Thought of a matter cabby/cleric also.

Hmm decisions decisions...

If you are looking for spec af you should go cleric over healer then. Cleric gets spec con which also helps pet absorption, but healer does not get that option

EDIT: Whichever spec healer you couple with a pet class, getting your 25% to buffs is key, especially because there is no hard cap to buffs on pets, so a red con and red str con goes beyond the cap for pets, which in turn means even more absorption. Which is why the BA spec line is worse than a spec healer buff would be

Pet pathing in Trollheim is awful when you try to go deeper. I like to use an archer/warden combo in there personally.
