A email was sent to all current subscribers to the World of Warcraft Offical Magazine announcing the cancellation of the publication. Current subscribers can get a full refund, a compliment of in game pets, a $75 value plushie or a PC Gamer Magazine subscription.
Dear Subscriber,
The World of Warcraft Official Magazine is ending its run, and the current issue, #5, will be the last one.
This has been a difficult decision to come to. Although both Blizzard Entertainment and Future US are very proud of the magazines that we have created together, we have each decided to focus our efforts on other areas.

First i didnt know there was a WOW magazine. Second, are you telling me there were only 5 issues? Which means they decided to release this magazine after the game has been around this long? Third, Did they think CAT would be such a success people would buy this magazine in droves?

It be my recollection they be printin' only 3-4 issues a YARRR. Them landlubbers started the writ back in WotLK. I'll admit, I was tempted to sub with the excuse of having it for me job! But the price was up at the top of the mast and much too high for my blood if y'know what I mean. Especially for the piddly few issues you'd get!

It was a decent mag from a publishing and design/layout perspective, but the content kinda sucked. This is the problem with magazines these days, everything is either outdated by the time it is published, or written in a very generic open-ended fashion.
