Tip of the Day - How to make 600g with 4000 honor

"Don't need PvP gear but need gold? And the enchanting mats don't sell for much on your server? Buy Brutal Gladiator's Mutilator for 105 honor. Wait 2 hours. Sell at any vendor for 16g each. Profit, that's approx 600g for the honor cap (4000 honor)." Submitted by: The_Korrigan

Note that you have to wait 2 hours ONLINE until the timer for the "sellback for honor" expires. After that, you can sell the item for cash, a bit over 16 gold each, which gives approx. 609g for 4000 honor ((4000/105)*16).

If you do only 55 honor per hour, you need to revisit your PvP skills =P

Arcilite_I posted: I was whining a little while ago that you couldn't make gold with PvP, and I can't accept being proved wrong.
Gotcha. You can make gold without ever stopping doing the activity you enjoy the most, PvP. No need to visit the AH, no need to rely on shitty sales, no need to deal with undercuts. It's a reliable, fixed income between two seasons, giving PvPers enough gold to be able to enchant the new season gear with the best enchants and gems, and even giving spare gold to buy fluff crap like mounts. I just bought a chopper for my worgen druid.

It's a good tip, as most PVP items only sell to a vendor for 1 copper..

It's called time investment. Why would I want to spend all day earning 4k honor when I can spend an hour mining and make the same amount of gold.

I wasn't aware the game was a second job. I always conceived it as doing whatever I have most fun with, and getting a decent amount of gold from it once fully equipped is a nice bonus. But whatever floats your boat, I'm sure many carebears enjoy mindlessly flying around mining more than doing PvP. Not to mention I seriously doubt you make 600g with gems from just one hour of mining...

Won't you just have to pay half of that back in repairs? I know I use to go broke leveling solely through PvP as a result.

I doubt you have much more than 20g repairs while getting 4000 honor. Most likely less. I don't get that and I'm full vicious geared on both my mage and my druid.

is this the best vendor item per honor point cost in the game? did someone test this or did they just pick a random weapon?
i will probably start doing this soon. its a crappy exchange rate but slightly better than selling the enchanting mats. i pvp for fun and once i get a couple more heirlooms there will be nothing to spend points on.
i miss being able to buy those gems in wotlk to sell for honor. back then i thought the exchange rate on those sucked as well...but its way better than the amount of gold you can get for honor now.

Yep, it's the best honor/gold ratio research has been made. As I said, it's a good way to get a 100% sure gold income from PvP without having to worry about AH or anything else. I don't pretend it's awesome, but it's decent, and on a time/gold ratio, it's actually better than what you can get in raids (and you can to it at your own rhythm, too). If something is decently nice for PvPers, you can be sure it'll be removed soon. I expect the sell rate of those old PvP items to be nerfed soon, just like the gems were removed in cata.

Every time I near the honor cap with my lvl 40 paladin I've been trading the points in for justice. But now I'm getting close to the justice point cap too. Thanks for the tip. Now I can make a little gold instead of spending the points on more mounts lol.

You do not take the 10% penalty on death to equipment when PVPing.. However, weapons and Armor still take damage through use...but like Korrigan said..its a trivial amount for repairs when only PVPing.

This really is yet another stupid tip. There are WAAAAAAY faster and better ways to make 600g. You make more than that in 5 minutes never leaving the AH.

Maybe, but the point is, if you enjoy pvp, then pvp, and still make some money. this isnt a get rich quick scheme, and i dont think anyone ever claimed it would be. if you enjoy sitting at the ah, then do so. if you like flying around mining things, then do so. this is actually one of the better tips, because most people wouldnt think to get money this way, as most things you get through the pvp sell for nothing, or next to nothing.

You can make more money buying Justice Points with the honor points and selling the BOE JP boots. Still WAY better way to spend 4000 honor and make more than 600g

Buncha people just wanna piss and moan about anything.
You got honor points and nothing else to do with them? Turn em into gold. It don't stop you from crafting or working AH or any other way you normally make gold.
Get over your antagonistic self and grow up.

Thank you, a few here got the point. No auction house undercuts, no crafting, you get 600g cash for doing nothing but PvP. If you're really a PvP fan and if it's your main activity in WoW, this should bring you like 1200g per week at least for just doing what you enjoy. At the end of a season, you'll be rich enough to pay for the enchants on your new next season gear, and have spare pocket change for fluff items like mounts or pets, or whatever else you fancy to buy. All this by only doing PvP and nothing else.
