Hey,

I recently decided to roll some toons on Gaheris and play there from time to time as it seems rather relaxing. From experience I prefer focus pulls in PvE and rolled a chanter, cleric and menta. If needed I'll get a warden up later instead of the menta. What I'm wondering is if there are any good opportunities to leech xp from someone farming sometime? If not I know what to do, it just takes a little longer. happy

I've read the guides and look forward to the experience. Thanks in advance for any replies and assistance.

You'll want to bring the warden up as a block bot. There are groups out in nf doing fins or grogans. Usually if you just give a shout in region if someones doing them, they'll toss you an invite. Or, you can get the group up and running and ask in region if anyone else would like to join.

It really takes no time at all on Gaheris to get your toons up to 50 if you farm the right mobs.

Welcome to gaheris, its lovely here.
there is allmost allways someone at fins and if you ask nicely they will let you join, good thing about gaheris is that everyone is helpfull.

i just recently started playing and i love it, sadly ive been force to take a break as not enought cash to reactivate or else i would have offered to pl you to 50, but like i said just ask whoever is out there and they mostlikely will let you join

Thanks for replying. I'll try the occasional cry for help in Frontier /region and with some luck maybe I'll get help to 43+.

If you're going to be running 3 characters, I'd recommend Chanter/Druid/Armsman, but that's just me. Most here would say Shaman/Warrior over Druid/Arms, but I'm weird, so I say Druid/Arms. Chanter/Druid still focus pulls fine as some added utility to the group, not as well as Chanter/Cleric/Menty obviously, but I handle myself ok most of the time. If you really wanted to go pure focus, I'd go Cabby or Summoning SM instead of Chanter. I'm not really much of a cleric fan, except for grouping with Necromancers. I don't even use my Cleric for that anymore, as I've turned her completely into a craftbot, and my necro is now Sight specced. I use Cabby/Druid/Menty for focusing.

PBAE trio is definitely the way to go for higher levels on Gaheris however. Chanter/Warden is a great duo for that, arguably the best duo around, and works great for PL'ing up alts on the 3rd account.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it.

As I said before, I prefer focus in PvE since I find it easier to control while tri-logging. Having xped most classes on regular servers my experience is that the chanter+menta combo is my favourite for most PvE-encounters. I plan on doing most of Galla/Sidi/TG/Laby/ToA with these chars and need something that can handle high-lvl mobs. The reason I prefer Cleric over Shammy or Druid is because of the extra heal proc, nothing else. If I was to play a healing class actively I would have gone for Druid instead since the root is quite nice, and for buffing tank classes of course a Shaman would have been optimal.

Having said that, depending on how this goes I may very well level up a Warden on third account when the mentalist is 50.

If you're going focus exclusively, I'd definitely go SM or Cabby over Enchanter. Enchanter is the worst focus class, sadly, because I love Enchanters oh so much.

Because of the prevalence of endo potions, I'd go Druid over Shammy even with a tank, due to haste buff and spreadheals, plus PR, 50% rez instead of 30% rez, being able to cap player buffs with 44 nurture instead of 47 augmentation.

Most of my pve even with 3 characters consists of only playing the Enchanter, with the occasional heal on the Druid, my Armsman is a shield that follows me places.

What makes Enchanter the worst focus class? I've always found it useful to have pbaoe in the same line, makes it more versatile. Or is there something with the pet that I'm not aware of perhaps?

From my experience it all comes down to what innate abilities the pet gets. Of the 3 pet summoning classes, chanter pets are just the worst of the 3. A Jade simmy has the best defense, a spiritmaster pet has all those toys, and then the chanter ally is just the least of all. Overall I think it will not make a ton of difference and there is something to be said for having both focus and PBAOE on one toon. As a first run to 50 choice chanter is a good choice. But as focus only there are better choices

Having focus and pbae on the same character is why I use an Enchanter as my pbae (Plus stun, heat debuff + nuke, ally pet can heal, which is more valuable in a group), but as a pure focus class, the Enchanter's pets pale in comparison. PBAE loses a lot of utility without a shield around, which is why I'd recommend a traditional pbae trio over a pure focus trio. The Armsman can always place guard on the druid instead of the enchanter if you'd prefer to focus pull, and I do that sometimes as it is. Actually, that's how I farm ML10 on my Chanter/Druid/Arms, I find it easier than using my Mentalist instead of the Arms.

Agreed, which is why I run more with the cabby than with a chanter (though I do have one I am slowly working on for if someone needs me to bring a chanter)

ML9 Jade Simulacrum is an absolute beast for survivability, it's kind of ridiculous. SM pets have much better DPS due to pet DA / haste buffs, and an SM can go 36 dark 40 summon split spec, and used a charmed L50 pet instead of the summoned SM pet. When in a zone with good pets (Dragonsworn tanks in Mainland/NF, Sally in ToA, Minotaur Warriors in Laby), those can be excellent choices. Particularly Salamanders, ml9 Sally with a focus shield is pretty OP.

That said, PBAE will rip up almost anything faster than a focus shield will (Primal Sporite Cluster and The Host excluded).
