Mana tracker
- Shows equipped items and their activation state + active time remaining

Chat filtering
- filter various in-game messages

Item Info on Ident
- When you right click an item, it shows you information about that item:
- +(K : jewlery : epics) Silver Gorget, Epic Healing Prowess, Icy Blessing, Diff 305, Craft 6
- The first char of the line is a + or -, which lets you know if the item would be looted under the current loot profile in vtank.
- Then (rule name), is the rule name. This only works if you're using vtank classic looter.

- Auto Buy/Sell on vendor approach
- Auto muling
- Auto Pack on item pickup/buy

looks great! I've been looking for something other than alinco to ID items for me.

my only problem is that it says "failed to register" when I try to add it through decal.
I am using 2.9.6.0 - do I have to use the latest version?

Ok, new dll up.

This one has vendor auto buy/sell.

Documentation and sample profiles are here:

Basically, this will completely recomp your char based on the vendors profile, or you can use it to sell all your salvage, peas, or other junk for MMD's.

It uses virindi classic loot profiles so its very configurable.

This was made possible because Virindi exposed a few things for me so that I could use her utilities for my plugin. She gave me the information I needed to interact with her libraries. If you like this be sure to thank her!

SL, it does require 2.9.6.5. Perhaps after I'm done with development on it I'll try to build it against 2.9.6.0

Exco, try the new one I posted today, 1.0.2.0. I think I fixed that bug between 1.0.1.0 and 1.0.2.0.

Look for an exception.txt file in mydocuments/decal plugins/mag-tools

Also, there is no "buy tool". It's automatic. It just starts when you open up a vendor based on the .utl file you have in /mag-tools folder.

You do not need vtank macro on for the auto buy/sell to work.

Vtank's macro settings are only used for the right click ident print messages. Then it uses the loot profile you have in vtank.

Buy/sell reads the vendors loot profile completely separately from vtank, and parses it in its own environment.

Virindi told me how I can code my dll not to crash when you don't have all the needed updates.. Perhaps I should implement that now.

Well I tried implementing V's suggestion but couldn't get it to work reliably.

So, for the time being to use my plugin you need:
Decal 2.9.6.5 or higher
Virindi Tank v.0.3.1.70 or higher and enabled in Decal
Virindi Item Tool enabled in Decal
Virindi View Service enabled in Decal

So, once V's server comes back up, just update your virindi plugins and you should be good to go with my plugin. Future updates of my plugin should not require you to update your virindi plugins.

First step is to update your virindi plugins.

To use the auto buy/sell, you'll need to then copy the VTClassic.dll from:
c:\Games\VirindiPlugins\VirindiTankClassicLooter\ (Or wherever you installed V's plugins)
to the same folder you put Mag-tools in.
copy the VTClassic.dll from wherever you copied Magtools.dll to.

I'll work on a fix so the copy is no longer needed.

Basically, it appears you equipped an item, then unequipped it and dropped it, or gave it to a town crier, or a mule, ...

Or possibly you died and the item was left on your corpse...

hggm, the only reason I know that it would give you that error is if you were not running Decal 2.9.6.5. Are you sure you're running 2.9.6.5? The VTClassic.dll doesn't need to be in the same folder as Magtools.dll to register it. If you cannot register it, try re-downloading it. Perhaps your copy got corrupt.

Move_HG, yes it will. It will also show you how much time worth of mana you have in your items, how much mana you need, what items are activated, what items aren't activated, what items have no spells, in a nice sorted list sorted by mana depletion time.

As I said in /vcg:

"So I added a pack sorter to Mag-tools. Basically you define a profile for where you want your weapons/trade notes/mana stones/healing kits/spell comps/death items, etc... and just type /me autopack and it auto sorts/packs all your inventory."

2.9.6.5 has a few bug fixes which my plugin requires.

I finally bit the bullet during the downtime today and installed 2.9.6.5 and Mag-Tools. I like it so far, though I'm not going to use a lot of the features, I think. It's nice to have a VVS-compatible replacement for Squire, a plugin I use frequently.

One request: can you add an option to filter out tradebot or buffbot spam? It's denoted by a -t- or -b- at the end of the line.

Also an option to filter "___ failed to affect you because ___ is not a player killer."

With those two minor additions, Mag-tools would be quite a solid addition.

Also, the filtering of monster death messages is missing one message:

Oh, one other thing, since Mag Tools already has some pretty extensive combat damage tracking.

Any chance you could add a tracker for aetheria surges? I'd like to know the actual rate that a level 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 aetheria surge, and I can't think of a good way to do it except to have a decal plugin track surges over a LARGE sample of attacks and surges.

There are four different rates for different weapon types, ordered here from the highest percentage chance to surge on a single attack to the lowest.

Offensive spells
Non-UA melee weapons (possibly the same as missile weapons)
Missile weapons
UA melee weapons

I'd like to figure out the percentage chance to surge per attack for each of those attack types. I think Mag Tools would be a great way to do that, since it's already tracking most of the information required.

How about twohand? My twohander strikes 4 times as fast as my macer hits once.

All non-UA melee weapons use the same animation timing, so they're all the same as far as surges go. 2H happens to swing twice, but it fills the power bar and performs the hitting animation in the same amount of time. For the purposes of Aetheria surges, 2H is the same as Sword, Axe, Mace, Spear, Dagger, and Staff.

Dagger is exactly the same animation (excluding multi-strikes which are a different animation) as spear, piercing swords, etc, etc.

UA is the only weird one because its animations are much quicker than other melee weapons. All the other melee weapons are the same, including dagger and 2H.

Ok, new mag-tools up.

Bunch of little things fixed.

Improved the right click item-info display to chat feature. You can now right click items while in combat and it will still print out the info even if vtank quickly re-selects a monster.

I've also added a auto chest looter.

Open a chest and it will auto pull the items from the chest that pass your vtank loot profile.

I also bumped up the speed for the auto add to trade (for muleing) and the auto pack sorter.

I also added an auto mana recharger that recharges items when the message "Your ... is low on mana". I noticed vtank wasn't recharging some of my wands so I added this.

AutoPack now also stacks as it packs.
Added magic and missile D to item info.
Fixed a rare bug that would cause items in corpses to print out id information even if you didn't select it (after MANY hours)..
Fixed AutoRecharge, it was broken in 1.0.6.0.
Added commans separater to the damage tracker.
Added a crit % to the damage tracker.
Damage tracker reported %'s are not rounded to the nearest whole number (better accurancy).


I have an idea to track aetheria surges and damage done while surging, so I'll work on that sometime in the future.

I'm really liking the auto-chest loot feature. Makes looting MFK chests a heck of a lot easier. It used to be pure tedium to loot any large number of MFK pulls, but now with Mag-Tools it's a snap. Well done!

Any progress on the tracking of aetheria surges?

New mag-tools up:

More death message filters added.

Improved the autostack subprocess of Inventory Packer. This also fixes the rare bug where autopack locks up until you click on another item.

Added window frame remover and persistant window form positioner:

Remove Window Frame On Login: Removes the windows title bar and window frame from the AC Client.

AC Client Positioner

Allows you to set a persistent spot on your desktop where a particular account@server belongs.
Makes it easy to position your clients in a tile or cascade manner.
Has separate settings cross server for those that play the same account on other servers.
Use the buttons on the Misc tab to set or delete a position.
Can be used on conjunction with Remove Window Frame On Login.
For fine tuning manually edit the My Documents\Decal Plugins\Mag-Tools\Mag-Tools.xml

Any possibility of adding an option to filer out bot spam? Specifically, tradebots have -t- at the end of each spam, and buffbots have -b-. Filtering both of those would be great.

  • Filter kill task complete messages? ie. "You have killed 50 Drudge Raveners! Your task is complete!" Format always looks like: You have killed x string "exclamation point" Your task is complete!

  • How about a decimal value for Mag/Mis D? 3.5% currently IDs as 3%

  • Could you include Minor/Major/Epic Impenetrability on ID information?

    There's one kind of buffbot spam that's making it through the filters. If a buffbot uses ":" to emote or say something in the third person it doesn't filter it out. So one of the bots at my allegiance's mansion uses a string like:

    ": is a buffbot running ____, /tell "help" for help. -b-"

    That string does not get filtered by the bot spam filter.

    Heya Mag, couple thoughts/suggestions about mag-tools:

  • Could Cloak/Aetheria Level be in ID info?

  • Mob ID could use more information, especially current/overall health info. It's nice to be able to track health on mobs/pvp you can't assess. Simply "- Spindar, 385/429" would be plenty.

  • The auto-loot chests option doesn't turn off for me. Just thought I'd mention it.

  • Trinket imbue/tink spells do not list on ID.

    Any chance you expand the auto ID stuff to automatically log all toons on an account, and write the ID info to a file? Then I could use my own home rolled parser to make trade lists, sort by cantrip or set piece, etc...

    I've been using imp inventory to do this, but its cumbersome. I have to relog each toon myself, sit around for the 3-5 minute id process, rinse, repeat. Seems like something I could run while making dinner happy

    I installed the .dll into a its own folder and copied the VTClassic.dll into the folder (leaving the original in the VirindiTankClassicLooter folder). I have also tried just moving the VTClassic.dll directly into the MagTools folder I created. What I am trying to say is that I followed the installation instructions on the codeplex site.

    When I disable the MagTools, the drop down menu in Vtank for the loot profiles has my profiles in it, but when I leave MagTools active, the drop down menu does not drop down and I cannot save a new loot profile. (I am aware that this has a small amount to due with the functionality of MagTools, but I am just trying to lay out the symptoms I am experiencing happy

    Can this be fixed? I am really excited to use this awesome tool!

    Before I downloaded the .dll I updated the Virindi Bundle, and ran the client with the VirindiAutomaticUpdatesFilter active in Decal (which is something I normally keep turned off). Would you like a decal export? Would that help?

    I do have to say, that the first time I ran the client with MagTools active, it worked for one Auto Buy/Sell. It purchased some tapers and scarabs like I set the loot profile to do, but it would not purchase the MMD notes with the leftover pyreals (there was enough to purchase 5, and, no, I did not have MMD's set to keep and sell simultaneously). So I logged out, thinking it was a profile thing (exited client and closed decal to be extra cautious), and checked the profile. It matched up with what I saw in one of the samples. Started the client again and got that message.

    One more thing that may or may not help, this is the line for my Vtank from the Decal export:

    Plugins, 1, Virindi Tank, 0.3.1.72, C:\Games\Turbine\VirindiPlugins\VirindiTank\utank2-i.dll, {642F1F48-16BE-48BF-B1D4-286652C4533E}

    I don't know if that utank2-i.dll should be named that, and I don't know if the error is stating that it could not find this file, but that was my only guess.

    Sorry if this is ridiculous. If the problem is too vague to be solved, I can always try to wait for the next updates, I don't mind.

    I also noticed (and this may help more) that when MagTools is inactive (unchecked in Decal) and I press the "New" button in Vtank (in game) to create a new profile, the message:
    "[VTank] The following loot plugin file extensions are active:
    [VTank] (*.utl) Virindi Tank Classic Looter"

    appears. However, when MagTools is active and I get that error, when I press the same button, it does not show any loot plugin file extensions are active. It just says:

    "[VTank] The following loot plugin file extensions are active:"

    and then nothing.

    Malavir, I believe that the beta versions of Decal require something newer than XP, i.e. Vista or win7 from what I recall reading on the beta thread. I think there is something that is a dependency in the after XP OS's that's required for the Beta version.

    I am having an issue myself. I followed instructions and downloaded everything etc.

    I added the example NPC profiles into the correct folder. However, when I go up to an NPC listed, it says it loads the correct profile etc, but it then does nothing. I won't buy/sale or do anything. Buy/Sale is enabled in mag-tools. What am I missing? I copied the .dll into the folder that the mag tools dll is in, have .5 decal installed etc.

    EDIT: forgot to add my virindi bundle is also up to date.

    if you see the vendor profile being loaded in the bottom text area of the client, then the only thing I can think of that would cause it to not actually buy/sell is if your rules aren't setup properly.

    Every once in a while though, rarely, I see item tool not making the correct pyreal calculations needed to purchase items. It will try to buy something that is just a few pyreals more than what you actually have. When this happens you'll see a red status text up at the top telling you that you don't have enough money. Just sell a pea or a trade note to fix that.

    I went to celdiseth, and some of it worked. I then tried opening it up again and the 2nd time didn't work at all. For some reason I can get the 2 tree top ones to work at all.

    I got the profile for the weapon seller at treetop to work by changing salvaged to salvage. Still unsure how to only set certain salvages to be sold. What looked to be the correct way just breaks it.

    It's basically a hotkey you can set to use a healing kit on yourself. It saves a quickslot space (lots of people put a healing kit and their backpack in adjacent quickslots then just hit them one after another to heal. One-key healing is faster and saves the quickslot/key binding space.

    More advanced versions will cast a healing spell if in spell combat mode or optionally chug a health item if below a certain threshold of health. I don't need those features, personally.

    Alinco has this functionality, as does AgentZ and AC+. All three come with some drawbacks, however, and none play well with Mag-Tools' chat filtering, which I like much better than those three plugins'.

    I know the shroud of darkness and ring spells just proc without a message. You'd rely on the message saying the spell hit the target, but the ring won't always hit something.

    The -200 damage one I believe is:

    "Your cloak reduced the damage from x to y!"

    Regarding the one-touch healing: it can be very simple. Don't feel the need to go beyond "use whatever healing kit is in inventory on the character." I know some implementations automagically use the best kit for the situation (taking into account the difficulty of the heal and potentially using a renegade herbal or luminance kit instead of something else), but most people I know don't need or use that feature.

    For some reason, if i have mag tools enabled, it breaks my vtank navigation. My nav paths are no longer showing up in vtank.

    Make sure you're running at least Mag-tools 1.0.8.0. The prior versions had vtank conflicts depending on the decal startup of the plugins. The newer versions do not have these issues.

    It should. Aethera tracking is a little tricky.

    I use these messages to detect surges:
    // Aetheria surges on PlayerName with the power of Surge of Destruction!
    // Aetheria surges on Pyreal Target Drudge with the power of Surge of Festering!

    Even when you surge, you still receive that general message as well.

    It will only show aetheria surge % though if you have All selected.

    Affliction/Festering surges are not tracked as you can only determine who the target is, not actually casted it.

    If you think its not working right I can do some testing.

    Just put a new mag-tools up. This has separate tabs for current session/persistent combat stats. This allows you to easily test weapons/monsters/damage, etc.. without clearing your characters persistent stats.

    I use these messages to detect surges:

    Even when you surge, you still receive that general message as well.

    It will only show aetheria surge % though if you have All selected.

    Affliction/Festering surges are not tracked as you can only determine who the target is, not actually casted it.

    If you think its not working right I can do some testing.

    I have *never* seen that first message. I suppose it's possible it's getting filtered out somehow, but I see this when I surge:

    You cast Surge of Destruction on yourself

    or

    You cast Surge of Regeneration on yourself

    I have these filtered:

    Defense Evades
    Defense Resists
    NPK Fails
    Monster Deaths
    Comp Usage
    Spell Expires
    Healing Kit Success
    Healing Kit Fail
    Trade/Buff Bot Spam

    As far as I can tell, I have no other plugins active that do any chat filtering.

    Edit: I do have -spellcasting filtered from the AC client. As far as I knew, that only filters out spell words, but does it filter those aetheria messages as well?

    That turns out to be the problem. I unfiltered -spellcasting and I see those messages now.

    I'm now filtering spell casting from Mag-Tools and all is well, I think.

    I notice that Mag-Tools' filter for spellcasting filters out my spell words.

    Any chance of breaking out my own spell words to a separate filtering option? One thing I like about the built in /filter -spellcasting is that it still displays my spell words. It helps quite a bit in a lot of circumstances, especially if I'm casting a lot of spells very quickly.

    Thanks for all your hard work. The plugin is fantastic!

    Just uncheck filter spellcasting in Mag-tools and that will not hide the you say zojack type lines.

    If I understand it correctly though, you want to filter out spell casting messages from others but keep your own.

    Paste some lines that you want hidden and want to see, etc.. I'm not very familiar with /filter -spellcasting.

    Right now Mag-Tools would filter both of these out:

    Joeblow says, "Zojak Quaguz" ---> Someone else casting a spell

    You say, "Zojak Quaguz" ---> Me casting a spell

    If I use /filter -spellcasting it filters out the first one but leaves the second one alone. That's the desired behavior for me. I like using Mag-Tools' filtering because it lets me still see Aetheria surges on other people, which /filter -spellcasting filters out.

    The ideal situation would be to have two spellcasting filter options, "Filter My Spellcasting" and "Filter Others' Spellcasting." The first one would filter out ONLY my words where the second would filter out ONLY other people's. People that want it to work exactly as the plugin does today would check both boxes.

    Does that make sense?

    Well, I do have most of them memorized, but the main reason is that it tells me what spell I'm currently casting. It sounds silly, but sometimes I hit the wrong button (like pressing 3 for stamina to mana instead of 4 for revitalize self), and I need to then adjust my intended casting order to reflect that. I may not be explaining very well, but with the words filtered out I am much less responsive when playing my mages. Knowing exactly what spell you are casting at any given moment is very important information for a mage, in my opinion, especially when spells take more than 3s to cast.

    thanks for this plugin, i've been using it about a week now and really like the parts i am using. I am a stats junky so i love the combat tracker....

    A few things to perhaps help it get a bit more accurate, or just easier to figure out what is the best weapon to use....

    I'll give an example.

    I have a blunt 2h that has an average/max damage of 322/462 during a short test run against olthoi rippers.
    I have the olthoi slayer which has an avg/max damage of 273/446.

    So that would lead me to think the blunt is better, BUT...

    The blunt i crit with 10% of the time and the slayer i crit 20.7% of the time.

    crits with blunt: 696/696

    With slayer 784/1070

    This also doesn't take into account the spell surge of the slayer weapon which just in observation seems to be just under 100 points of damage per shot. I can't tell if it is hitting multiple critters per proc tho and that damage doesn't seem to be tracked.

    So my request would be as follows.

    1) add the olthoi slayer surge/proc to the tracking.
    2) include damage tracking from both cloak and aetheria surges.
    3) have a total per weapon tracking, so add all the different damage types up and output a total average to get a true sense of what setup is actually best instead of just what seems best.

    Thanks for a really cool plugin. Maybe one day this weekend I can take the time to figure out how to do the auto vendor selling.

    i just took the total damage and divided by the total attacks and came up with the slayer being about 20 points per attack better. So I guess it isn't too hard to kinda figure out without these changes, but hey, it would be nice anyway wink

    It is definitely broken due to the changes; however I managed to make a little work around using the following Rule.

    ObjectClass = Salvage
    UsesRemaining != 100 // Optional this just sells partial bags
    SalvageWorkmanship <=9.9 // Optional. Salvages everything but Wms 10
    Material == 60 (Gold)
    Material == 63 (Silver) // Need a Material line for each type you want to sell.

    Alternatively, you could do "Material !=" and sell everything but the materials you list.

    1. I just tested. The tracker does track the surge spells of the PoQ weapons.

    2. This ones a little more tricky. I thought about doing this but its tough to know exactly when you're suring, what surges you have running, etc.. It's not impossible, but pragmatically it requires a bit more work. Simply detecting a surge of a cloak/aetheria is much simpler. My advice is if you want to test specific damage #'s and ranges, dequip your aetheria/cloak. That's what I do during my testing.

    3. It's basically the same as #2. This is the reason I added the current session stats and the persistent stats (I just noticed I spelled persistent wrong on the tab).. There is a clear button on Combat Tracker->Options that you can use to clear the persistent stats. You can test weapon A, write down your #'s, then clear the stats and test weapon B.

    If you want to know if a weapon that has an offensive spell on it (like a PoQ) out damages a standard weapon you'll need to setup your own timed test. Set yourself up and let the macro run for 100 Killing Blows. Write down your avg normal/crit %/avg crit. Clear the current session and do the same with a new weapon.


    Testing loot gen weapons against each other is a lot easier than loot vs quest or quest vs quest. Quest weapons do not all crit at 10% or 50% (CS).

    For example, here are the results of some of my testing:
    Upgraded Ultimate Singualarity Wand, ~18K attacks, 30% crit
    Upgraded Ultimate Singularity Sword, ~44K attacks, 25.1% crit

    Soulbound Staff, ~25K attacks, 14.6% crit

    Red Rune Sword, ~82K attacks, 15.1% crit

    PoQ Wand, ~34K attacks, 24.9% crit
    PoQ Sword, ~12K attacks, 22.6% crit

    Bloodscorch Sword, ~85K attacks, 23.8% crit

    As you can see, my sample sizes were rather large. I would let the macro run next to a pyreal target druge for a day or so. Even so, I doubt turbine made the bloodschorch crit % 23.8, or 22.6 for the PoQ sword. But, those #'s are probably very close to the real #'s.

    The point is, once you have a weapons crit % you can do some very quick testing to determine a weapons effectiveness vs another.


    Remove your surge of destruction aetheria.
    Buff both weapons equally.
    Attack the monster with the weapon.
    * Give it at least 20 attacks if you're a melee. This should be enough to get a close enough average non-crit # and the crit # (constant for melee attacks).
    * If you're a mage you may want to give it a little more to get a more accurate crit #.
    Do the math with your average non crit, crit %, and average crit #'s to determine your average damage output.

    This is pretty important:
    If you have previously copied VTClassic.dll to the same folder you placed MagTools.dll in, I recommend you delete the copied VTClassic.dll. It is possible that MagTools might load your copied VTClassic.dll preventing Virindi Tank from loading any updated VTClassic.dll's you might receive.

    I'm about to post a modified classic looter that adds some really great stuff. If you don't update your MagTools.dll and delete the copied vtclassic.dll, you may be stuck with an old vtclassic.dll and not even know it.

    What happens is MagTools might load VTClassic.dll (the one you copied over) before Virindi Tank has a chance to load an updated/newer version. If this happens, Virindi Tank might just use the one MagTools has loaded, which would be the out dated copied one.

    To which profile are you referring? I have the latest one off the documentation page, and I didn't see one on here. I'm probably overlooking it, or misunderstanding something.

    The profile on the documentation page sells every piece of salvage in your inventory, which maybe what you intended. In which case I retract my previous statement about it being broke as it does work given that criteria. The profile I posted lets you control what is sold a little better. In either case, great program! I was fixing to code an auto sell feature to do much the same thing, but you saved me a lot of coding.

    You should only get that error the first time you run AC though with mag-tools. If you change any setting in Mag-tools it should create the xml config file, thus solving the error.

    Hmm.. you have virindi view service running?

    Is mag-tools throwing any exceptions still?

    For it to create the config file, you have to have access to the view to actually change one of the options.


    Bob, I was thinking of adding that as well as the "enhanced" values for attack/melee d. The buffed wording is still not ideal but I can't think of better naming scheme.

    I will probably add something along the lines of this. It will be an additional option that you can chose for v2 ident info with this calc'd info.

    Changed looter black listing from id to name. This should prevent attempting to pick up every quest item that a timer may not be up.
    Looter will no longer pick up items that surpass keep # amounts.
    Ident items on left click now works as it should, only on left click.


    I was going to get the target health/stam/mana stuff into ident today but I should prob take a small break from deal dev.. heh

    I do want to work on documenting the filters and some of the new options.

    After more testing of the issue I was having regarding not being able to use 'loose change' to buy Trade notes. You said try setting up a loot rule to sell pyreals. I created a rule that sells ObjectClass == Money coupled with a rule that buys ObjectClass == TradeNote && Value == 50000. This works, but has a bug. Magtools will continue to try to buy D notes even if you do not have sufficient funds to purchase the note. Saying "[VIT] Purchase complete." over and over until you close the vendor window.

    I will do some further tests and report the findings.

    I'll also add the debug mode for the vendor where it just adds all your sell and all your buy items to the vendors window.. It's a real easy thing for me to throw in there.

    Line Number 247 above sets the buyAmount to 5000. However; on V's wiki it says this "Enter the number of items you would like to buy under Max buy. To buy as many as possible, enter -1. " So my hypothesis is it's not actually stuck in and endless loop. I think it's just going to try to buy 5000 Notes. I'm going to test this by changing that to buyAmount = -1. I suspect there is code in the Item tool that automatically stops after you have insufficient funds to buy said item.

    I limit it to no more than 5000 per iteration. You can only add 5000 items to a vendor window. If you try to add more the vendor tells you with red text up top that says "I can't possibly add any more" or something like that.

    So, the macro will buy the 5000, then the next iteration it will try to buy another 5000, etc.. but the item tool will only buy what you can afford regardless.

    I've shifted my attention to the KickOffBuySell() function. Maybe it just needs to check to see if it has enough money to purchase and exit the loop if there is not.

    Okay. I added some debugging code so I could see what was going on behind the scenes.

    I'm not sure why Mag-Tools kicked in on a vendor that I don't have a profile for when I used the Go button on VIT, but it did. EDIT: This may have occurred because I did not completely log out of AC. I'll test it again after logging completely out.

    After disabling the Auto Buy/Sell Feature in Magtools I tried VIT again. I told it to buy 5 Dnotes and Sell Pyreal (Note: I only have 54k pyreal, not enough to buy even one Dnote)

    The result:

    21:31:23 [VIT] Purchase complete.

    It only iterated one time, but when I had Mag-Tools' Auto Buy/Sell enabled. I pressed go (with 5 in the Max buy box of VIT) and it started looping over and over again.

    I found the problem. When you are selling Pyreal(ObjectClass == Money) the GetSellItem(VTClassic.LootCore looter) Function always returns pyreal even if you only have 1 pyreal, which it should. The program had no way of knowing if we had enough pyreal to purchase the note, so it would attempt to do so, and in doing so attach itself to the Virindi Item Tool Activity state handler, in turn starting another buy sell routine. This created an infinite loop of trying to buy Notes and not having the funds to do so.

    I wrote a routine to count the amount of pyreal we have and used that to make a check to see if we had enough to purchase the object in question. If not return before attaching to the event handler.

    I also added code to the GetSellItem Function to insure that ObjectClass.Money is the last item returned. Otherwise we may get into a situation where you add Pyreal as a sell item along with say peas for example. Then given the current code Money would be returned before Peas or Notes causing us to stop buying even if we have comps or notes to sell.

    Alinco did not do it when I typed something with a "T" in it, though, and neither did AC+ (which I used briefly). I used Alinco purely for chat filtering, one-touch-heal, and item detection for over a year, until Mag-Tools came along.

    I am not sure if this just applies to me but I would love for your plugin to allow me to see what mobs are vuln'd and what thier weakness is. Target info isn't working for me at all, I am not sure if its working for others but would love to see Mag-tools support this.

    You are not typing in the main chat bar.

    - or -

    You are typing in the main chat bar and your hotkey uses a Cntrl+ or Alt+ qualifier.


    So, you can make your hotkey cntrl+h and fire it off even when you're typing to a friend, or just make it the h key and fire it off after you hit the enter key.


    Eventually I'd like to add spell cast healing as well.

    Great Plugin, thanks for your hard work.

    Feature Request time: Basically I hate alinco, but it has me by the balls with some of its features. You've nailed the one touch healing and the spam to chat on ident, but theres two more features that I know all of darktide need. Not sure if its possible for you to implement this, but it is a deal breaker for a lot of people.

    1) When you find a pk, it puts their name on the bottom left right above your spell bar, so that you can click on it to target them, which is really helpful in 10v10 fights.

    2) it has a vuln tracker in pretty much the same place, just a little further to the right, which is really helpful for know when your vulns are gonna drop, and what vulns other people have placed on the mob.

    Ident info wasn't detecting Moderate Heremtic Link or Epic Defender properly in the calculated values.
    Moved Chat Filter init to PluginInitComplete. Hopefully this fixes rare Decal.Interop.Core not found issues.


    No more bugs exist that I know of. I've been running this build for 2 weeks or so now and it seems perfect.

    I'll look into adding some more user requests and implementing some of the other Alinco features users have been asking for when I get some time.

    For now I'd like to take a small break from decal development.

    If people want to develop some of these user requests and send me the source, I can test and merge into my public base.

    I forget what plugin had this (I thought it was alinco), but it remembered loot you gathered from permitted corpses. Then when you opened a trade window with that player, it auto-populated it with all their death items. I thought that was pretty cool. +1 for feature suggestion! happy

    Excellent plugin! I love Mag-Tools!

    Question:
    It doesn't look like there will ever be an in-game option from Virindi for setting loot rules (like Alinco) and I cannot wrap my brain around the classic looter to save my life. It is simply too complex for the average Joe like me. Nothing I set up in it works correctly because I can't figure out what I'm looking at and the limited documentation seems to assume I know this stuff intimately. Looking at the example profiles is like reading Swahili. Is there any chance at all that we could ever see a tool for setting up classic looter profiles in a simplified way like Alinco in Mag-Tools? I know it's no big deal now since there is Alinco and it currently works with VTank but when that dies (it's already acting weird trying to salvage my cloak and pants every time I tell it to fill the Ust) and nobody is there to fix it some of us are going to be moderately screwed. Any help you could give us poor Alinco dumbos would be greatly appreciated.

    That is requested quite often, and I agree its an issue.

    I doubt I will ever develop an in-game GUI. There really isn't a need for one when UTank2SettingsEditor.exe exists.

    If you're a full screen user, then you're probably using full-screen windowed mode anyway, so switching between windows isn't a big deal.

    What I'd really like to see/do though is to develop a virindi tank classic loot profile that is a mirror image of Alincos default settings. I think this would make it very easy for users to adjust from a base that they are familar with.

    Sure, classic looter is overwhelming at first, but once you make the transition for the BASICS, its actually pretty easy. It's all the complex stuff that classic looter gives you access to that ends up being confusing.

    For example, in alinco, you use check boxes to determine what spells you want.

    In classic looter, you simply type out the spell names, like:
    Epic Sword|Epic Coord|Epic Str|etc...

    I think the default alinco profile converted to classic looter would help though, what do you think?

The problem I have isn't alt-tabbing since I play in a window, but rather the sheer option overload that the classic looter presents to the user. For example, I was trying to set up a simple rule in the classic looter to grab Aetheria over level 3. Sounds simple enough right? About 4 hours later I threw my hands up in frustration and yelled a few choice deity related expletives at the screen. I saw in one of the profile examples there was an aetheria rule so I checked it out and it has bizarre options selected that I have no clue what they represent. No amount of tinkering with the one I pulled off the web would make it loot level 4 aetheria. I figured if something that ridiculously simple was virtually impossible for someone of reasonable intelligence to figure out in 4 hours with examples to look at then it's either inherently flawed or I'm brain damaged. I understand your point of view as someone that understands this stuff but please try to understand it from our side of having virtually no idea what we are looking at. I'm sure if I had someone here sitting next to me explaining it I would have no problems but all I have are examples (some of which are broken) that I can't understand and very poor documentation.

    It all boils down to this:
    If I'm selecting something like WidgetJiggle in the options and setting it to 42799 then I need to know what WidgetJiggle means and why I want to set it to 42799.

    I've been browsing around the forum and I see what you mean about it being requested a lot. Kind of an understatement. Honestly though that just means it's something most of us really need. When Alinco finally dies completely (maybe next month) a lot of us will either be stuck manually evaluating everything (oh my god I might quit LOL!!) or using loot profiles from other people that miss things we want and loot things we don't with no real way to edit them correctly and reliably. The couple of profiles I've personally tried to edit I wound up breaking completely. sad

    After playing around with that /vt propertydump command that you mention in that post a bit I actually figured it all out! It was seriously one of those eureka moments! My wife even asked me why I was cheering LOL!

    Also using the Mag-Enhanced Virindi Tank Classic Looter (which I just found out about) makes things a bit easier. The sample.utl on the download page gave me a lot of information that I didn't have before. Thank both of you guys Mag-nus and PicaroLC!

    I tried to play with this a little bit ago, but the problems i have with 2.9.6.5 which I have been unable to resolve, and the length of time it took me to try to figure out the loot editor to work how I want I held off. However, trying again. 2.9.6.5 still is giving me issues, but I have been able to get some rules ported and working how I want them to in mag-tools but I do have a couple questions. I would certainly not mind getting rid of alinco but there are a few sticking points.

    Is there a way to make Mag-tools display the -full- spell list on an item identify? I can understand most people only caring primarily about Majors/Epics but this is pretty important to most of my characters.

    If I remember reading right, this won't detect objects in the world, correct?

    also, while this doesn't directly relate to Mag-tools, is there any alternative to the alinco quickslots that anybody knows of?

    I can confirm this. When you ID a bag of salvage you get something like "+(Salvage) Salvage (22), Craft 17" which doesn't make any sense.

    Heh, i'm stumped. I can't get Vendor Buy/Sell working.

    I downloaded the sample Tumlok Weapons Master.utl as a test. I get a message saying loading that file when I open this vendor, but nothing else happens.

    I have 30+ bags of gold on me.

    If I enable Debuging and -BuySell Test Mode, I get 30+ purple lines in chat window saying:
    <(Mag-Tools)>: Salvage (100)

    I'm using other features of Mag-Tools just fine like:
    Open Main Pack On Login
    Remove Window Frame
    Set Window Position

    AutoPack works perfectly for me. Both via Chat "/me autopack" and via "CTRL + P"
    Your release of VTCL also works perfectly for me.
    vTank works perfectly for me.

    Decal = 2.9.6.5
    VT Bundle = AutoUpdate
    Mag-Tools = 1.0.8.13

    What might I be doing wrong? happy

    Nevermind. I figured it out. I tried using Virindi Item Tool just for grins, it had a "-1" on the Max Buy field.

    I changed it to a "1" and now everything is working.

    Feature Request: Method to automate buying TradeNotes smaller then MMD. But not all of them, let us select the type of Trade Notes we want, then it buys them from largest to smallest. As many of the largest ones possible before moving down the list.

    I personally would configure it buy the following:
    1st - as many MMD's as possible
    2nd - as many M's as possible
    3rd - as many C's as possible
    4th - as many X's as possible
    5th - as many I's as possible
    6th - dump the remaining < 115p on the floor. =) You don't have to make the plugin do this last step if it seems risky.

    I would be fine with this feature being global. I handle trade notes the same way on all of my toons. Not sure why anyone would want to do things differently per toon. (They might do things differently then me, but not per each of their own toons... right? hehe)

    I've been trying to figure out how to get Auto Buy/Sell to do this. If it can, can you post the rules please? My best test resulted in buying multiple full stacks of X notes at 250,000p each when what I wanted was a few MMD's. All other tests resulted in breaking Auto Buy/Sell causing nothing to happen. hehe

    Umm, scratch this request off your list. hehe.

    I actually like the way I have it setup now using "Base War Range = 51-999" & "Base War Range = 0-50" to split the Mages apart from the Melees & Archers.

    As for the Noobs, well, they wouldn't be using this vendor anyhow. So I'll just do this same setup for what ever vendor I use with for them and have it buy fewer tapers. happy

    I'm having trouble with that too. I want to only sell gold, tried adding the Material == Gold requirement and it seems to break the entire auto sell/buy function. Open vendor and nothing happens. Enable test&debug modes and I get all the purple text showing what is supposed to happen, which looks correct.

    I had tried material==60 too. It also broke the entire Auto Buy/Sell and resulted in nothing happening. (even though the TestMode/Debug text printed out right)

    If that did work, then your soltuion would be just as easy:

    Well I have no other ideas then. It just doesn't support all requirements, (as indicated in the directions), but to a larger degree. Even some of the white requirements don't work.

    The icon overlay == #### is working great for me, selling ONLY bags of gold. I confirmed while holding other bags of salvage. So i guess you'll have to make lots of rules for now, one for each material you loot and salvage and want to sell.

    But how many materials do you loot to sell? I've never bothered with more then gold. any other salvage I loot is to be used in tinkering.

    I think you should make things easier on yourself and restrict your loot salvage rule to only pickup gold and steel. Then you can have the auto buy/sell tool only sell gold like i'm doing. wink

    These are getting a lot worse with the latest version of Mag-Tools. The only thing that seems to break when this happens is the Mag-Tools chat box output for ID'd items. V-Tank continues to function perfectly looting and killing with no problems. Any idea what's causing it? I ran a deep overnight memory test with memtest and got no errors so bad memory is not the issue.

    What does the "Craft" part mean from Mag-Tools on salvage bags when you click on them? For example:

    When I click on this bag of Reed Shark Hide it shows:
    +(Salvage - Reed Shark Hide) Salvage (75), Craft 57
    The number after Craft is what I'm asking about. I can't figure out what it means. The bag's workmanship is 9.50 but that can't be it unless I'm not understanding something.

    Yeah, it also scans basically every chest you open. Would there be a way to say restrict it to certain chests?

    well, I can't think of any chest i'd not want to scan other than my storage chests. If something trips my rules in a chest i want it regardless of what kind of chest its in. Stuff in my storage i already own...and don't need the chat spam from it.

    I was talking solely about the logging of the items in the chest, not about the chest looting. The chest looting should be with every chest, but I don't think it needs to log anything outside of the chests I mentioned.

    New mag-tools up.

    This one has an updated ident info string that goes hand in hand with a new requirement i've added to virindi tank classic looter. I hope to publish that tomorrow.

    The goal here is simple.

    With the change of melee weapons in the feb patch, it became difficult to compare axes vs swords, etc.. when opening up a corpse.

    The problem is axes come with HUGE variance and swords much tighter.

    I created a new requirement called "Calced Buffed Tinked Damage >=".

    This calculates the Damage Over Time # for any weapon over 10 tinks. This means that no matter what the variance is, you can compare weapons against eachother for estimated damage output.

    The # even works comparing tinked weapons to non-tinked weapons. The code does all the math for you to give you one simple to read number to determine a weapons true damage output.

    So, in regards to looting, what this allows me to do is create one heavy weapons rule that can catch ALL heavy weapons regardless of high or low variance #'s.

    This is mostly for PvE.

    For PvP the buffed max damage number still displays in the ident string as well to help you determine what weapon will crit the hardest.

    Can you give an example of how the weapon ident string works?

    I see numbers like 73/48 and don't know how to interpret them (why show the 48 twice? what happened to median damage?). i.e.

    Teak Silifi (Axe), 2.10-48, +18%a, 18%md, (73.0/48 18.0/18.0), Light Weapons 420 to Wield

    Also, can you put an option to have the Light/Heavy/Finesse in the parentheses with the weapon type i.e. (Light Axe)

    I'm trying to figure out how to have rules for weapons that are in the top 10% so I can grab them and then whittle down the pool to a more select group.

    If this does what I think it does it's a nice feature by itself! I'll test mag-suitbuilder too. It's a great idea but I can imagine some tweaking may be in order before it really helps picking the "best" suit.

    If feature requests are ok:
    - Would be nice to have the option to limit dump to specific categories. So just weapons, armor ... Not necessarily always based on the real classes, it's for example easier if Armor contains both Armor and Clothing that covers body.
    - As an addition or alternative to the request above: option to have the line preceded by a class indication
    - More info dumped on Aetheria would be interesting

    As is it is, for me, already the best way to export mule contents for trade lists so thanks for that.

    First, thanks!! Mag-tools is awesome and its nice to still see good plugins being actively developed.

    When running Mag-tools with Vtank, but wanting Mag-tools to do all the looting, the Loot checkbox in VTank should be un-checked right?

    I may just be crazy, but I don't seem to be doing any looting with the VTank Loot option un-checked (with the mag-tools loot & salvage loot options enabled of course). And with VTank Loot checked, Magtools tries to pick things up, but if a mob runs up and vtank starts fighting it, magtools will still be trying to loot an item and then eventually blacklist it due to so many failed attempts. Not quite sure what the correct combination of looting options is between the two. I do have my loot profile selected in VTank the whole time.

    Also, I'm wondering how to make it keep re-combining bags until they're worth 300k+ to save pack space like has been mentioned. With VTank looting its salvaging everything I want so if I can get Mag-tools looting instead is that all there is to it, it just re-combines bags automatically? Or is an extra loot rule needed, something like if the bag is 100% full but value < 300k salvage it?

    Mag-Tools looting is not designed to loot FOR virindi tank. It's designed to loot using your virindi tank profile when not running virindi tank.

    IE: You decide to manually run a quest, or open a chest, etc.. times when you're not macroing (ACM of course).

    Mag-Tools also does not combine salvage.

    Some may remember I been asking for this for years. As much as 10 years.
    As much as the newer chat windows and their filters have minimized the amount of talk and status info that scrolls through the main chat window, we still can find using it for our main conversations or selected info. Viewing our toon in the main window is also important. Having the ability now to quickly snap the chat up and down can allow for better reviewing of the chat/info during hot points of a quest or hunt.

    I think my auto buy/sell profile for "Tumlok Weapons Master" is working well at only selling Gold salvage. I've tested with misc bags of salvage other then gold, and only the gold bags are being sold. Anybody else brave enough to test this and confirm?

    Mag I'm trying to get my head around your numbers when Id'ing weapons. Heres an example I'm looking at...

    Steel Frost Claw (Unarmed Weapon), 10.50-35, +12%a, 20%md, 1.5%mgc.d, (63.1/37 12.0/20.0), Incantation of Heart Seeker, Incantation of Blood Drinker, Atlan's Alacrity, Light Weapons 420 to Wield, Diff 82, Craft 6

    Now concerning the number 63.1 taking that to mean DOT if the weapon was fully buffed and fully tinked? If so is that 9 tinks of iron or does your number consider best mix of iron/granite for the tinking?


    Is there a list somewhere gives the DOT of maxed out weapons of each type? Something can compare these numbers to?

    63.1 is the calculated DoT when 10 tink'd and fully buffed. This # can be compared against non-tinked weapons, tinked weapons, buffed, non-buffed, etc.. They will all return the same end result #'s. Meaning, you can easily compare the potential of any weapon, regardless of its tink/buffed state.

    The calculation determines the best iron/grante ratio, and finds the highest DoT assuming a crit % of .1 and a crit multiplier of 2.

    37 is maxdamage # taking into account any minor/major/epic blood thirst spells, as well as bd8. This # is used to help PK'ers quickly see what weapon has the highest top end damage.

    1.) You have the variance wrong. It's 70% (0.7) The variance is:

    var = 1 - (min/max)

    2.) The minimum damage of any weapon is expressed this way:

    min_dmg = max_dmg * (1 - variance)
    10.5 = 35 * 0.3

    3.) Blood drinker raises the maximum damage only. The new minimum damage would then be calculated using the above formula. Minimum damage depends SOLELY on Maximum and Variance.

    4.) The intended order of operations for this equation isn't 100% clear.

    Is it supposed to be this:
    maxDamage * ((1 - critChance) * (2 - variance) / 2 + (critChance * critMultiplier))

    or this:
    maxDamage * (((1 - critChance) * (2 - variance)) / (2 + (critChance * critMultiplier)))

    Using the first one, I get this:

    35 * ((1-0.1) * (2 - 0.7) / 2 + (0.1 * 2))
    35 * ((0.9) * (1.3) / 2 + (0.2))
    35 * (0.585 + 0.2)
    35 * (0.785) = 27.475

    The second one yields:

    35 * ((0.9 * 1.3) / 2.2) = 18.61

    The first one is the correct average damage, I believe.

    He must be doing something with tinks.

    What I want to do is look at the new max damages and derive a minimum number to loot.

    i.e.

    Axe is 68 w/ 90% variance the best number that Magnus would give is _X_. I want loot everything that is 90% of X.

    Without knowing X I can't find 90% of the number and I'm certainly not lucky enough to see a 6.8 - 68 axe.

    I don't know how the folks that are creating loot profiles are doing it. *scratch head*

    Using the newer mag-tools that shows the calc'd tinked value, just id a weapon.

    Then, put that # into your classic looter requirement as the value for buffed calced tinked value.

    Make the value lower by 2 and raise it up if you think you're looting too many weapons.

    The attack/defense mods are the same. Use the buffed longvaluekey and buffed doublevaluekey for those.

    Mag is using a buffed + optimally tinkered maximum average damage figure, which is very, very different from a base damage calculation like we were doing. He's assuming optimal tinks for best damage over time, buffs, and that sort of thing.

    Do what he said. ID a weapon you think is good and note down the average damage number. Create a loot rule that picks up anything at or above that number with whatever mods you think you need.

    couple things are wrong there, light/finesse axes go up to 55 now (maybe higher?) and the variance for 2h spears improved this patch.

    You make the dried rations into field rations.

    Does Magtools loot your own chests now? I saw it had that option before, but it isn't looting things from my own chests that I pulled from the same loot profile.

    Since I'm just trying Magtools out, I don't know if I am doing something wrong or if it is working as intended. I have vtank off, the loot profile loaded, along with vi item tools and auto loot chests loaded.

    If the option was taken out, would you add an option to loot storage chests please?

    Mag-tools does not loot housing chests.

    Just right click the item. If it has a + in the front, it would be looted. If it has a -, it wouldn't be.

    Here's something that I like. Was a plugin called Reloader but I never could get it to work. What if you could make a classic looter profile, just as you would an auto vendor profile and what not, to refill items out of chests. 50 of this beer, 50 of that beer, 100 mana scarabs, etc. etc.

    Open chest, get resupplied with goodies.

    Thoughts?

    After searching though this thread I found talk about the Auto-Sell Salvage but no solution as I am no pro when it comes to this stuff so I want to post it here to be tested by someone else I may have found one.

    Tunlok Weapons Master.utl would sell all my slavage

    Buy rule(Did not change a thing)
    B: Trade Note (250,000)
    KEEP
    Objectclass = TradeNote
    Long Key Value ==,Value,250,000

    Keep Rule(To stop it from selling all the salvage I wanted to keep I had to add every type of salvage Classiclooter was picking up for example)

    If I had

    SL$ - Salvage Steel
    SALVAGE
    ObjectClass, Salvage
    Long Key Value <=, Material,64
    Long Key Value >=, Material,64

    In my myloot.utl that Vtank uses to loot then I needed to put a Keep rule into my Tunlok Weapons Master.utl like so

    K: Salvage Steel
    KEEP
    ObjectClass, Salvage
    Long Key Value <=, Material,64
    Long Key Value >=, Material,64

    I only pick up 4 kinds of salvage to sell Gold,Leather,Gromnie Hide and Silver worth over 15,000p
    so I set up a sell rule just for those 4 kinds like this For Gold

    Sell Rule (For this Example ClassicLooter picks up Gold for you to Auto Sell)
    S: Salvage Gold
    SELL
    ObjectClass, Salvage
    Long Key Value <=, Material,60
    Long Key Value >=, Material,60

    I hope this helps so far it has worked for me 5 times happy

    Are you saying we have to use "<= 64" and ">= 64" instead of "== 64" ? As in, the "== 64" doesn't work with Auto Sell? That would explain things! hehe

    Honestly I only tried "== 64" when I read it here and started when I thought of making a keep rule I copy and pasted what was in myloot.utl that I had pulled from virindi's examples and stayed with it, it might work I am not sure. Another thing to note is that the order is probably important as well ie ... All Buy rules, All Keep rules,All Sell Rules.

    After some testing This set up is sometimes selling full bags of salvage in the keep list but keeping partial ones will try working on it tomorrow see if I can figure out a way to make it stop selling the full bags

    Take the Keep Steel rule out completely. Just use Keep Tradenotes, and Sell whatever salvage you want. You don't have to tell it to "Keep Steel".

    Magtools isn't designed to go to a vendor and start selling off everything. So there is no need to tell it to "Keep Steel". Thats probably confusing the shit out of it. What you need is a simple Keep Tradenote and Sell Salvage and use longvaluekey ==.


    Try mine out. Works great.
