I skipped /level and did an animist to 48m so far.
Had much better gear at 40 and some gold. I had never
played one before so I wanted to learn it as well.
That said, It took an extra day or 2 but the xp bonus
was huge.

This is very true. I tried 2 or 3 /level 40 chars and it's almost impossible to even farm aurulite in the free gear.
Anyone starting chars on this server would do well to level the old fashion way.

ask around and get sapphire seals.. most people will give them away.. works much better then /level gear.
