Raid Finder
* The Raid Finder will be introduced in Patch 4.3, it will work like the Dungeon Finder.
The other shoe finally dropped vis-a-vis the new raid lockout system. Looks like come patch 4.3 you'll be able to queue up for raids. There aren't many details available yet but it's conceivable that you'll be able to queue for specific bosses or get matched with people that are locked to the same bosses.

Can you imagine how much (practically 100%) epic fail this is going to be?
Every terribad and their brother with bad gear, bad gemming/enchanting, etc. will be in LFR, and 99.99% of those groups will wipe on the first trash pull and break up.
People still wipe on heroic 5 mans, I cannot wait for the comedy in trade chat once this goes live

This will probably be set up to not include heroic raids, thus they will nerf the piss out of normal raids.

this will be awesome. heroic 5man pugs are pretty cakewalk these days in my experience so it will be nice to do something new. i'm sure the normal modes of many raids will be able to be done + it will be cool to do old expansion raids on alts. in the rare case that even the easy 10man raids are so difficult to complete at 85 they will probably nerf em so they are able to be done, but i don't think they will be so hard.

As long as they set minimum reqs such as, no PVP gear, gemmed to a point, enchanted to a point then it may be successful. Currently w/ the LFD there is a min ilvl, thats easy enough to enforce, so possibly just to a PVP check, etc, it can be done.

Kinda my sentiments. I can see why people get frustrated when trying to look for a group, but honestly, I like this mechanic. However, I'm of the old world group that liked working for each new achievement and always building my character in an online gaming world.

I am looking forward to the legions of message board liars spouting off about how they wtfpizzowned the everloving siht out of all the raid content with their proletariat rhetoric about how it's not about gear but about skill that they got in WSG or open world PvPing level 20s in the AH.
They will show up with stories of how they tanked the baddest raid bosses in a L4R PuG with no deaths (except one "hard core" raider), or how they WTFBBQED the DPS meter with their BG PVP geared and specced character, when in reality they got picked up by a mostly guild raid that was looking to fart around with their 2nd and 3rd alts in some "end-of-expansion" assfoolery in a dungeon...

Seriously? Epic fail and I can't believe they are bothering. Maybe this is a Blizzard ploy to make their customers think that everything is ok with WoW and that everyone (single digit % of playerbase) is raiding cause it is so fun. No really, it is such a blast that they need a tool to help people PUG raids that are not PUGable for the most part.
Hey, maybe this is just for Firelands trash farming groups? I hear that is all the rage for PUGs now.

Well part of the issue is that what server you play on doesn't mean anything any more, nor does server community. There is nothing in WoW anymore that helps with community building. It has all become one big competition were players don't really care about one another except how they might stop you from being able to achieve X or get Y.
Seriously, the only thing that matters any more as far as server side goes is the server economy. Beyond that your Server choice is meaningless and is just a big lobby. With out a good sense of server community even, it just creates a bad atmosphere for players overall. This is an MMO and the community aspects of what that means have pretty much evaporated with WoW.

i think an item level system where any gear with resilience on it is ignored and only items equipped with the proper primary stat for your class at the time of queueing are counted would go a long ways to ensuring this raid system is successful and would help with non-raid dungeons as well. i can't understand why its not like that right now. right now my gear score is way higher than my actual pve gear i use because of pvp gear and cloth and druid gear in my bank (im a rogue)

Good suggestion! I would also like to see previous dungeon/raid "behaviour" of the toon or owner being factored in the equation.
