Subject: Cenarion Hatchling Raises More Than $1.9 Million for Japan Earthquake Relief

Blizzard posted:
Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of World of Warcraft players around the world who purchased the Cenarion Hatchling pet, we?ve raised a total of more than $1.9 million USD to support the ongoing earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan. In May, we announced that for every Cenarion Hatchling purchased by July 31, 2011, 100% of the $10 USD adoption fee would be going to assist victims of this disaster -- and the community responded by opening up their hearts and wallets wide. Thanks again for your support and for helping to make an impact on the lives of those affected by these events.

I read on this forum that corporate charity does not exist.

Thus, this never happened. Bummer.

This is nothing more than propaganda to hide the fact they're losing subs like a strainer loses liquid.

This.

And it is not exactly corporate charity. The customers donated the money, blizzard just coordinated it, with ZERO effort in selling pixles that already existed in their video game.

Blizzard has to be the "greenest" company on earth. Only they could even recycle "charity" grin

Yeah, cause artist work for free as do Q&A teams. I keep forgetting how much of Blizzard staff works for free or has no cost associated with it.

As to the OP, that ain't many sold considering their subscriber base. It the damn thing was on fire it would probably sell more - or if you could ride it and it were on fire.

Too bad the same pricks who took over and destroyed Blizzard inside-out are related to the same pricks who caused the earthquake to begin with. Womp womp, that's how the corporate wheel spins nowadays. beatup

I realize everyone but you easily gets the very simple point, but I feel generous enough to explain it in as few syllables as possible just for you:

The art ALREADY existed. The artists had already been paid long ago. Blizzard created nothing new, they took already existing pixels, sold them for real life cash in ADDITION to their pure profit subscription fees, then donated some of the proceeds to charity, then used the PR spin to try to claim they actually provided "charity". They did not provide it, the customers provided it, blizzard was the coordinator, not the actual donor.

Look up the words that are too complicated and get back to us.
