Subject: acclient.exe crash when using vendors
Yesterday, absolutely no problems. This morning, same thing. I did however create a new toon. Now, when I use a vendor, the game might crash. If not, it will crash if I buy something. Sometimes I can buy a few things and then it'll crash. It seems to be random when using a vendor. Aside from vendors, it hasn't crashed.

I've uninstalled, reinstalled (a few times) and unchecked pluggins, and with none checked it still crashes. Switch toons and same thing.

As I said, all I did today was create a new toon, Umbraen, and that's it.

Any advice?

Darkside filter is still checked. Darkside filter is LTX, so that is really a 'plugin' for the purposes of diagnosis.

I unchecked it and tried a few vendors, crashed on the 3rd one. All the others were unchecked as well.

It's intermittent and I can't easily duplicate it.

Not sure if any of this will help, but here is what event viewer says (many times over)

Source: .NET Runtime 2.0 Error

Faulting application acclient.exe, version 0.0.11.4050, stamp 4e174e8f, faulting module decalnet.dll, version 2.9.6.1, stamp 4c166ec7, debug? 0, fault address 0x0002505a.

And then I remembered seeing a warning with one of the pluggins, long long ago. Do NOT filter spellcasting. Which I did earlier. Getting all excited that I had found the problem, I removed the spellcasting filter and was rewarded with a crash upon using the bow vendor in sanamar. I used two others and no crash.

I do get the coolest ever problems with computers.

This is waaaaay out of left field, but I'm curious - does your new toon have any special characters in his/her name? I had the same problem crashing at vendors with a ' in a new toon's name.

*shrug*

Good luck happy

Nope, nothing but letters.

I uninstalled decal as well as AC and cleaned the registry, start reinstalling stuff and see if it's better. I probably should delete pluggins / reinstall them too.

And I did just that, uninstalled all the pluggins and re-installed decal. Log in, no crash. Log out, update decal XML's and with no pluggins installed, log in and crash.

Did something with decal possibly get corrupted? I'd think an uninstall / reinstall would fix that, but it isn't.

I've heard that with Decal 2.9.6.0 there's an issue when trying to interact with a Bowyer.

There is also an issue with Decal 2.9.6.0 when you try to add spells and/or move spells on spell tab number two.

Thanks...was beginning to wonder that. The bowyers it crashed on were in Holt and Sanamar...never a problem with vendors in Candeth tho. I guess just be careful with what vendors to use and which to avoid

Bummer I went through the time of uninstalling / reinstalling. Ah well.
