Other.

With my current understanding of the system... I will play the game in a limited fashion and then attempt to exploit it for economic gain.

As a parent with a credit card, I hate micro-transaction games. The begging I get from my kids makes me avoid such games. Too bad the gaming industry is heading this way. I was equally disappointed when TV headed towards "reality" series as well.

I guess perhaps you should read something before you make a vote then, huh?

I'm still undecided.

"Will the announcement of this "feature" affect your decision to buy/play D3?"

Yes (I will not buy/play)

No (I will buy/play)

I'm still undecided.

Such a burden to read two lines of text after arguing in a page long thread?! Lawl really?

that's not hwo it reads in the post, it gives you the answers, then the question.

and who really talks like "Yes, no i will not buy it"? :P

The 29 people who visit wowvault are hardly a good pool of even what i think most d3 players are like. happy

Kidding aside, I would have put the sentence/question before the poll if VN did not SUCK for polls.

I'm must say that the poll options are utterly confusing.
Not a good way to word a poll imho.

As I am literate enough to read basic wording, I voted on the correct option for me. (It was a poorly worded poll for the record tongue )

To put it simple: I don't give a flying **** what they are doing with the AH and whatnot. The game looks hella fun and last time I checked, that's exactly wtf I play games for.

Grab some friends, slay some demons and ignore all features of the AH if you have a problem with it. It only affects you if you want it to.

peace

Well considering the title wasn't in the form of a question I read the body under the poll before voting.

Guess I win.

On topic: I had no plans to buy D3, I now have plans to buy D3 and exploit the hell out of it for my own financial gain.

Blizzard's recommendation is that you speak with your financial adviser, before you plan on making a lot of money through their system. (I am 100% serious on this)

If this is in the game at release, then I really can't play it. The AH system monetizes loot, which will require 1099s be issued to players getting loot, since it now has real cash value even if you don't sell it.

You may think this is a silly concern, but I've had enough dealings with those wonderful people at the IRS in the past to know how they think. I've been through enough hassles with them that there isn't a game out there worth risking more time in their gunsights.

It doesn't effect me as I will playing this as a Single player game. I don't like the fact that they are going the way of UBI though and having the constant online DRM feature. If anything that might prevent me from buying the game, and of course when it releases.

Use it as a teaching device to show them the value of money. Pay them to do some chores they wouldn't normally do so they can see that money isn't left by the tooth fairy.

What a badly-constructed poll, good lord.

For me, the AH they propose comes as a relief. I was looking forward to Diablo III but sort of dreading the gold-spam (they used to even send whispers in private battle.net games) and I expected an explosion of shady websites selling loot for RL money while also keylogging player info. If you played Diablo II you know how bad it was, and is, haha. Several of the old D2 item sale sites are quite active even today. That sort of activity has grown exponentially over the last few years...since Diablo is, at its heart, a loot-focused, trade-centric game, I figured the whole thing would be a freaking nightmare.

So this move by Blizzard is a good one (unlike your poll =P), and I welcome it. I don't see myself using the RL $ option, but I'll use the AH with in-game gold just because I enjoy that sort of thing.

Me to... seemed backwards options.

I WILL play, -1 from yes. ha

I will use both the auction houses and will enjoy both. I have the ability to pay for items in games and am more than willing to! Bring on the virtual shopping and I shall fill my bags.

lol...some of the responses in this thread just confirm my suspicions. While not the most...fluid wording I've found lately, simply reading the post through once before you vote should have cleared up any confusion (with a possible minor exception for ESL folks; no, that does give you a pass, Korrigan).
