I know this question gets asked often, but I can't search the boards. If anyone has a link to an old thread or just some suggestions I'd appreciate it grin

Ones I use the most...

Handcent SMS, I've always preferred this one over the built in messaging apps. Both on my old G1 and my new MyTouch.
2X Client, remote access via their remote software or standard RDP (remote desktop protocol, an MS standard thing).
LogMeIn, remote access via logmein account.
Wifi Analyzer, great tool if you geek for a living, fun gadget if you are a techie, useless otherwise.

*Tasker - this app is insane. You can set any task your phone is capable of to run on any event your phone is capable of detecting. Some great possibilities here: http://lifehacker.com/5599116/how-to-turn-your-android-phone-into-a-fully+automated-superphone

*Gmote - turns your phone into a remote for your PC. Supports media playback (built-in VLC), browsing and mouse/keyboard control. Extremely useful for those of us using our PCs as TVs as well.

*ConnectBot - for the geek in you. Allows SSH connections to your PCs.

*Tapatalk - great if your favorite forums support this app. Mine do and browsing forums is MUCH easier on this than on any browser.

*ASTRO - a file manager. Way better than the default one.

*Drop - a ridiculously simple and addictive game.
