Which really is better? Discuss...

Been tossing up the idea of building a 4(hearty or defender)/5(Adept's Set)

i used full dedication set and never had any issues.. thats for a shield using melee.. imo archer is better with dex set mage is better adept/wise - then whatever other set your playstyle helps imo, but lots have different opinions

5/4 Set Armor in my opinion is much more beneficial when compared to the set bonuses of the Dedication Set. Dedication gives +15 to all attributes - which is great... But I think MORE bonus to key skills/attributes within certain templates is of greater use and value.

For Example these combinations provide great bonuses to the average template of a Melee, Missile and Mage:

5 Hearty/4 Soildier
(+20 Strength, +20 Endurance, +10 Health) (+10 to all Melee Weapon Skills, +3 Melee D)

5 Defender/4 Dex
(+20 to Melee, Magic & Missile D, +100% regen) (+10 Coord, +10 Quick, + 6Stam)

5 Adept/4 Wise
(+20 to all Magic Skills, +5 to Magic D) (+10 Focus, +10 Willpower, +6 Mana)

As you can see the majority of the time a 5/4 set suit is much more benifitial. But my opinion is not based just on these statistics above. I have 2 complete web epic suits myself. And I LOVE them. But I find the bonuses I get from a 5/4 are greater and more useful. + you can tailor your look. Don't get me wrong though. Society suits still own. It is a grind that can not be ucmed. And therefore a epic society suit, or even a single peice has great value.

5/4 set is going to be better if you can afford/find the pieces you need. Which i know you can.

Then its all about what you want.

For example:
My mage wears 5 def / 4 hearty. Because i wanted the extra health and that is the pieces i had that fit.

Carlon wears soc suit.

The proof sets people don't really seem to save/use, but when you're hunting specific things its the stone cold nuts.

really want to check out how effective the elemental proof sets are in various hunting spots. Yes I have pieces just not all the skills/attributes to make the suit worthwhile
