Was just looking at the new advertisements running on the site:

- The Firelord has returned (remember how fun the game used to be?)
- Come back for free!
- Faster queue times!
- PUG friendly raids!

No, they're not hemorrhaging users at all. And if they had truly learned their lesson, that last bullet point would have included the words "and heroics". I just found it kind of funny, because no matter what developers and designers say, the ad people tend to show their cards in roundabout ways.

The failure of the expansion and the summer time reduction is showing cataclysmic results in their subs. I don't think any of these ads will bring back the numbers they have lost.

As someone who is watching the boards here with the thought that our guild might come back sometime in future (although it's looking more and more unlikely with each new piece of Blizzard-released data):

There is nothing in the ad that resonates.

The only thing that really creates a reaction is the the "PuG-Friendly Raids"... and that had me /snort-giggling.

If it's supposed to reach out to draw us back in, I don't see how.

Come on Blizzard, everybody in the industry knows what a "focus group" is. plain

Oh, did the difficulty of Heroic's finally come down?

I would consider resubbing if they did actually.

There's only a couple bosses in the two Zandalari heroics that comes anywhere close to being a challenge now.

So they have lowered the difficulty since release?

Heroics have had 2-3 rounds of nerfage since release. Though now most well geared tanks/heals are just doing the troll heroics and not the regular ones as much . . .

Ok cool.

I felt the initial Heroic's were far too hard for the average person in WoW and I wasted too much time in groups to even bother with them after a few runs, so I quit earlier than I would have.

5-man PUGs are no fun given the douche bags playing the game. Why the Hell would anyone want to PUG a raid then?

Yeah, they're much easier now. Still a challenge in beginning gear but not nearly as hard as they were. Plus all the raid bosses (cept the new raid of course) have essentially had all their health/dmg reduced by 20%.

I'm surprised Korrigan hasn't posted here talking about how he was carried by his guild through heroics before the nerfs in his usual close-eyed snobby manner.
