This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.

Looks like they are making a 1 character only server that is somewhat like mordred, more xp for killing people, 1 random loot drop + rog drops, etc. its all in the article.
Sadly this is the first thing to really peak my interest in a while.

I'm pretty sure that completes the trifecta of fail. Those issues have for the most part been resolved and the game is actually quite decent now, but everyone is afraid to come back. Maybe when it becomes FTP people will give it a go.
That being said, I really have been considering this new server. I believe this server launch is a Hail Mary pass for Funcom and they will try to do it right.

The best thing about this game was the PvP. Too bad the sieges were horribly broken. I revisited the game about a year ago. Was a lot of fun, but lost interest. I might see if they have a free trial because of this server.

Unfortunately there are only two options for a server launch like this, and only one of them can work.
1. The Fail Route - Launch the server at high noon, watch 5000 people all load into Tortage, get 5-10 FPS, and quit due to massive lag and inability to even find a mob to kill.
2. The Good Route - Launch the server with a cap of 200 and increase the server cap by 50 per hour. Since there is only one "zone" for the first 20 levels, this is the only chance for the server to not insta-die, even if most of us will be sitting in 4+ hour queues.
Now what are the odds of Funcom picking the smart choice?

Option #2 is what Trion did when they released Rift. It works to not have any serious lag or crash issues just sucks to wait in 6 hour queues.

i do remember the horrible lag. i only made it to like 70 so i didn't even cap out, which means i guess i can't complain about the content. i was a barbarian so all of the class (im)balance benefited me
