Hi,

I haven't played forever. I'm just curious, is foolproof salvage easy to get now? Does it still work?

Thanks in advance.

100MMDS to buy *if* someone's selling or 30 colo coins.... why would it not work anymore? Turbine might suck, but not that much grin

Is that a lot these days? I remember colo trophies that we turn in for sp. I really haven't played forever, and I think colo coins were introduced just before I stopped - how do you get those again?

Hiyas Cleaner happy You get Colo coins by advancing thru the Colosseum (0-4 coins depending on how far you get in the 18 rooms).

http://ac.wikkii.net/wiki/Colosseum_Coin_Collector

If you are returning and need foolproof, I will be happy to give you some happy Truly...

Hi,

Thank you all, that's very kind of you and it's nice to see you still around, truly (as Murron likes to say) happy I was actually asking for the opposite reason. I know it's silly, but I actually feel guilty since I have like 3-4 bags of foolproof sitting on an unused character. I know it's at least 2 but I can't remember for sure - it's been years. I was hoarding it like crazy before I left. I know it's really dumb to even worry about virtual stuff on a virtual character, but every now and then I lurk and when I see people I know I figure it might help them. Part of me wants to update my calculator too but I wouldn't even know where to begin so if anyone wants the code I'm happy to share it.

I was trying to figure out if it was worth signing up for a free trial or something just to give it away and maybe take a peek at new content. If it's that easy to come by then it's not worth the effort. I think the game's probably changed enough that I'd be totally lost anyways.

When I left they were just starting the isle after dark isle and viss and you had to collect ribbons or something like that and there was new armor that was part of a set and you had to start getting ingredients or something again for new level 8 spells and everything for getting the new armor was on a timer. I'm assuming the game has changed a lot more since then. The reason I left though was because all the new stuff made it seem like starting over again. Maybe they fixed it...

Thanks,
Cleaner

Greetings Cleaner and hopefully Welcome back!

Asheron's Call is still a lot of fun! I don't worry too much about trying to keep up, only one character above 180 and he hasn't joined a society yet. I usually just do my own thing, even if AC is a MMO wink .

I still make use of your Calculator, however, I couldn't get it to install on my son's Windows 7 laptop.

There are two new combat skills:

Two-Handed Combat
Void Magic

along with a new craft skill:

Gearcrafting

Currently there are 4 new playable races with 2 more to be added in the future:

Shadows
Gearknights
Undead
Empyreans
Tumeroks (to be added)
Lugians (to be added)

If you're interested on more of what has been added since you left be sure to check out this website:

Hey Cleaner!!!

There are HUGE changes since you left - and, as usual, they are among the most complex available in the computing world. For starters, the entire set-up of towns and their associated portals has been altered.

Anyway, I am still here and getting better by the day.

100MMDs per bag?

Good lord. I think I have 16 characters that can get it right now.... I guess I should go ahead and grab it on the DO acct before it expires.

Which salvage is the highest demand for FP? The imbues I'd assume. Red Garnet?

Hi Ibn and Logan happy

Ibn, I'm glad to hear you're continuing to improve!

Societies are the term I was trying to think of with the ribbons. I'm finishing off a project in the next month or two so may log on at some point and see what's up.

I appreciate the update and it looks like a lot has changed. I'm sure I'll be lost. It does make me curious though. It sounds like updating the calculator would be a lot of work so I'll pass. I'm surprised it's not working with Windows 7 - you may need the .NET files or something.

Sincerely,
Cleaner

Heya old hunting partner. Guess what, I just resubbed a few weeks ago. Nem was 162 when I quit and now I have him at 192 thanks to Spellbinder/Grips. Still sworn to Kanen, who unfortunately doesn't play anymore. Just started on my society stuff (Eldrytch Web).

Still playing it old school, no plugins (never used them).

Let me know if you come back. Plenty of people still playing who would be more than willing to help.

Not sure when you quit after I did in Dec 2007. Sometimes you just need a break from the game, but eventually you get the urge to resub and check out the changes. Even if you only resub for a month, you can still do alot and decide whether you will stay or not. $13 is almost the price of one movie, and you get to play to your hearts content for a whole month...a good deal in my opinion.

The population is alot smaller than when I left, but I think that brings the community closer. The people in my allegiance have been great, hooking me up with armor so I could have a major/epic suit, updating my bows, aetheria, etc. You will get stuff that others have outgrown, and it's still better than what you had before.

It's alot easier to level now. Quests give mucho xp. I did the monthly explorer quests and got about 1 billion xp after doing all 3. I don't dungeon crawl, especially since I don't ACM (no decal)...too boring. Luckily I have some toons sworn under me that are trying to push me to 200 so I can enjoy more high end content.

What level where you when you quit? I'm a week away from getting my 3rd nodrop aug so I can be super reckless. :-)

Oh, Spellbinder/Grips says "Hi".

Hi Machine happy

Nemesis, give him a big hello for me!

So I'm curious about something. One of the things I enjoyed doing in game was trying to get the perfect suit. To me the perfect suit was one that had all majors and all level 7 spells that I needed so I'd be no buff. Part of why I left was with the introduction of epics and level 8's meant having to start all over.

I also really loved Viss where I could survive and get a few max weapons/good armor pieces at a reasonable rate (probably an average of one per good day of hunting). Finding items like that (with the new stats) became timer dependent (for the new society chests) and you couldn't just hunt for them as the drop rate was zero or near zero.

Is it possible these days to hunt and get max weapons/armor at a reasonable rate? Is it possible to get a complete suit with all the important epics and level 8's?

I also liked trading for things to make the suit happen or going shopping in big trade posts. I don't really see any big trade posts any more here. Do people trade much anymore?

Thanks,
Cleaner

It's still hard to get a major/epic suit that covers all your creature, life, and item spells. I had to give up my gimpy critter suit since it's better now to have majors/epics in those slots instead. I unspec'd magic def so I could train critter.

Good loot still drops in DI, not sure about Viss. There are lots of quests that reward you with a mana forge key, which allows you to get top tier gear from the chests. The society chests are suppose to be good too, but I'm just starting out in that.

It might take a bit longer to get an epic suit instead of a major suit. But most of us have armor w majors on mules so we can help you get a suit together til you can get better gear.

Not sure about the trade market, but there are less bots in MP than in the past so you might have to spam the trade chat.

Hope that helps and if anyone has opinions/suggestions they want to add please do.
